Lancome Le Magnetique Nail Polish

by Tine on July 17, 2007

Okay, I know it seems as though I’ve been promoting Lancome a lot lately (nope, they don’t pay me to talk about them. What a pity), but this is another find which I simply have to share with you.

Behold, Lancome’s Le Magnetique nail polish.

Lancome Le Magnetique

This has got to be the most fascinating nail polish I’ve heard off. It’s a normal nail polish on its own, but when you hold your freshly applied polish to the magnet on the bottle, the magnetic pigments in the polish will form a pretty design on your nail.

You can check out All Lacquered Up for a demonstration on the nail polish.

I’m not sure when this will arrive in Malaysia, but the Le Magnetique retails at USD$17.

Update: This is now available in Lancome counters for RM45.

PS: I think it isn’t difficult to create this effect. Just off the top of my head, I’m thinking of iron powder (the ones we used in our science classes in school) in our regular nail polish, mixed with glitter, and a piece of magnet to create the design. Do you think it’d work? Does anybody wanna try it out? ;)

Ooh interesting! But what is the design? I mean is it a different colour for it to show up?

Paris: It’s supposed to be a starburst design woh. I reckon it’s somehow designed onto the magnetic strip itself (check out the demo). As for other colours, I’m not sure if it means other designs, but I’ll definitely check it out when it’s out and let y’all know ;)

Saw the demo, it’s pretty gorgeous actually – talk about having ‘original art’ on your fingers (although with my luck I’d probably end up with streaks all over the place!)

I am SO going to get my hands on one…*hooked*
