A primer creates a barrier between your skin and foundation. It helps the foundation go on more smoothly, even out your skin tone, and help your makeup to stay on longer. It also absorbs the oil from your face. They’re kinda like moisturiser, but I’d recommend to use another layer (i.e. primer) to act as a go-between. A primer also fills in the pores and lines on your face so that it’d give you a smoother finish for your foundation.

I don’t actually see the point of wearing the primer alone, because it’s a base for your foundation.

I know I sound really ignorant. what’s a primer for? What does it do? Does it attempt to give the skin a poreless look or? Can it be worn alone? So sorry for the loads of qns. I have been seeing the word primer in skincare but simply have no idea what’s its function. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, that’s true. Good primers aren’t cheap. Still, they can last quite a while, so I think it’s a good investment. Like I said, the layer between your skin and foundation has to be good :p

oh i’ve never used any primer before…been meaning too though. But i make do with moisturizer because primer can cost a bomb!!:(
