Beauty On The Go: My Makeup Bag

It sure wasn’t easy deciding which makeup item to bring with me on vacation. I mean, what if I suddenly wanted to use another colour but I didn’t have it with me? It was a thinker, all right. After much consideration of usability and practicality, I decided on these items.

Travel Makeup Bag

The makeup bag is from David Jones. I love the pink-and-white polka dots. The top of the bag is a zippy mesh container, and there is another section at the bottom of the bag where I stored my eye pencils, mascara and lippies. I had to bring quite a bit of makeup with me as I’ll be attending a very dear friend’s wedding in September. What can I say, I need more tools to do the face up good :p

Travel Makeup Bag Items

Signature Minerals mineral foundation
Silk Naturals Oil Control Primer
Everyday Minerals Multitasking concealer
Everday Minerals blush in All Smiles and Sunday Brunch
Max Factor compact foundation
Bourjois D’un Coup de Pinceau light-reflecting concealer
NARS duo eyeshadows in Habanera and Brazil
NARS Orgasm
Bloom eyeshadows in Beige and Pewter
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer (I depotted some into a spare EDM sifter jar)
Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Shu Uemura eyelash curler
Steel lash comb
Covergirl LashBlast waterproof mascara
Covergirl LineExact liquid eyeliner
Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal eye pencil
Kanebo T’estimo eyebrow pencil and brush
Sally Hansen Invisible lip liner
Avon Pro-To-Go lipstick in Cherry Glisten
Bloom Lip Lacquer
Tweezers
The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil facial blotting tissues
L’occitane Cherry Blossom solid perfume

I placed the mineral makeup in a sandwich bag to prevent any accidental spillage onto the makeup bag. The 5g jars are so small and portable; I can bring more blushes with me :p Oh, and have I told you how much I LOVE these 5g jars? Seriously, you don’t have to bring your full-sized bottles and jars of lotions and potions. So depot, depot, depot!

Travel Makeup Brush Set

The travel makeup brush set is from Lumiere. I replaced the powder and blush brushes with my beloved Everyday Minerals flat top and angled brushes as I’m more used to these brushes when it comes to foundation and blush application. Better to stick to the brushes I’m used to, even on vacation.

So what do you think? Too little? Too much?

Amazing how you could pack so much in a such a small bag! I couldn’t go anywhere without my Shu Uemura eyelash curler either. I couldn’t tell from the picture if you have the Mini Curler or the regular Eyelash Curler (I use the mini-curler). And yes, blotting tissues are a must and so are different shadows to fit different moods. Looks like you got it all down!

Wow, gal, that’s A LOT of makeup to bring on a vacation. But yeah, I guess it’s justified by the wedding you have to attend. And hey, one’s gotta look radiant and flawless on honeymoon too huh? 😀

I love your bag! It’s amazing how much you’ve managed to pack in considering the bag looks quite small. We’re the same though! I can never figure out what to bring and always end up bringing lots and lots of stuff. Thank god for 5g jars! hehe…:) So travel friendly.

Oooh My. Two skincare baggies and one for makeup. That’s A LOT girl!!! LOL.

Although, since you’re attending a wedding, and it IS your honeymoon, one must look radiant at all times, no? =P

Thanks for sharing the stuff in your makeup bags! =)

PS: And just to let you know, I ordered the EM brushes thanks to your reviews earlier. *ekeke*
