What Was Your Early Favourite Lipstick?

I was going through my daily dose of beauty blogs, when I came upon this question that Blogdorf Goodman asked – “What was your favourite lipstick in college?”

I thought I’d answer it here, and at the same time, would love to hear what your early favourite lippie was.

Believe it or not, I only started wearing lipsticks when I entered college at the age of 17-and-a-half. I didn’t even buy my first lipstick. It was a gift from my mum. Okay, it was actually from one of her GWP (Gift-With-Purchase) cosmetic packs, and she gave the lippie to me. I loved how sheer it was, and yet gave me that hint of colour when I wanted it.

I wore it everyday during my first couple of years of college, that I actually ran out. Nicked my next one (and the one after that) from my mum 😉 This was one of the very very few lipsticks that I actually wore over and over again.

It was Clinique’s Almost Lipstick in Black Honey.

Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey

Apparently it’s a very popular shade of lipstick by Clinique. It’s definitely been selling for years (I first started wearing it in 1998). I haven’t worn it in ages though, but I remembered what a lovely shade it was. I’m going to get myself one at Clinique sometime soon. Walk down memory lane once more, wouldn’t you say?

What was your favourite lipstick when you were in college? Or when you first started wearing lippies?

    Nikki:
Maybelline was the second brand of lipstick I used when I first started out, and it was pink too! 🙂

LOL…my first lippie was Clinique too…back in 1994 I think – in a lovely shade called Tenderheart, which was just PERFECT for that “your lips but better” wash of colour. Sadly, they’ve discontinued that shade (*WHYYYY?!?!?!?!*)

Didn’t realise u wear lippie in college… I guess I am always blur in this area.

Anywayz I am wondering the clinique lippie u mentioned is it the one that my sis once own. I really like it but realise can’t get it anymore, something like no longer selling.

Let me know if u manage to get urs again. If yes, maybe I can go check out whether is it the same one.

I only started wearing makeup at the age of 21. (Yes, I’m a late bloomer. Haha.)

I think my first lipstick was a lovely coral colour by Estee Lauder. It’s been too long that I don’t even remember what it’s called now. 😛

My first lipstick is also from Clinique (gift with purchase too!) when i was 17. The color is sheer with hint of color, just nice for me. I wish i could remember the name.

My first lipstick was from Pupa, but I can’t remember the name. It was a beautiful shade of pink, though.

    Beetrice:
Hey your first lippie’s from Clinique too! 😀

    Paris:
Better late than never. And now you have so much more than all of us 😉

    Jenn:
Haha, I remember Cosway. It’s still around, isn’t it? Or is it Amway? Geez, these direct sales people ought to come up with better names.

    BC:
That’s the beauty of the lippie. It’s a MLBB shade (My Lips But Better). Very natural, yet giving a hint of colour. I’m definitely checking this out the next time I’m at Myer or David Jones. Despite the many lipsticks I already have, this one’s particularly significant and deserves a place in my pocket :p I’ll let you know when I find it. It’s still available on the Clinique website though, so I’m assuming it’s still available in the store.

    Fuzkittie:
The Black Honey and one of Maybelline’s lipsticks were the only ones I’ve ever finished 😛

    MisSmall:
You can always go check it out at Estee Lauder. I bet it’s housed in one of ’em gold tubes with vertical lines?

    Prettybeautiful:
OMG me too! Gosh those were embarrassing times for me 😛

    Ava Vampira:
    Hey just like me! 🙂

    Gio:
It’s funny how so many girls’ first lipsticks are pink in shade :p

I know it was a nice shade of pink and it was BonneBell

    Rojak & Tapai:
Aww I remember Bonnebell. I used to covet those when I was much younger but it was hardly available in Malaysia.
