Beauty Tip of the Day: Unwanted Creams

Beauty Tip NoteWith the search of the perfect skincare, the Holy Grail of products that give us perfect skin, we’re bound to pick up quite a few duds along the way. So what do you do with the ones which did not work for you? Do you give them away, or just store them away until they expire and you’d still have to chuck them?

As much as I can, I’d give away the skincare products that do not work for me. Even though it doesn’t work for me, it doesn’t mean it would not work on others too. For the items which I cannot give away, instead of disposing the products, I’d use them on my neck. Thus, for face creams, lotions, eye creams, etc which I didn’t find work for me, instead of wasting them, I’d apply them generously on my neck instead. For heavier creams, I’d use them on my arms and elbows.

If you have serums, moisturisers or eye creams which you find only just produced mediocre results, rather than keeping them away till they reach their expiration date, why not apply them on your neck instead? It wouldn’t break you out, and you’d be giving it the extra care it needs anyway.

Waste not, want not 🙂

Hey that’s EXACTLY what I do with all my face creams that don’t work!

I recently purchased Olay’s Regenerist Serum and White Radiance moisturizer but both broke my face out. So far they’re doing a great job on my neck and underarms (YES underarms!) All that shaving and plucking resulted in darkened underarms so yeah, they need some TLC 😛

That’s what I do too! But recently a cream that broke me out on my face, ALSO broke me out on my neck. Who knew? Boo Biotherm!

I give them away or swap them.

What’s your Holy Grail skincare product(esp moisturisers) Tine? Do share!

I do have a sensitive neck and if a wrong cream rubs it the wrong way I get breakout too. That’s why I use “unwanted creams” as my foot cream.

Hey, great idea! Never thought of that! I’ve always been chucking it or giving it to someone!

I tend to do those impulsive purchases too so instead of throwing them i apply them on my neck or I’d give them to my sisters just so I would feel satisfied that i spent my money’s worth on something ^_^

hehe i am doing that too! its either i apply whatever doesnt work on skin to my neck, or give it to my mom ^_^

Hmmm, interesting idea. My neck unfortunately is MORE sensitive than my fave I think, lol, so I guess I’ll skip on this idea. I like the foot/elbows/arms/tush ideas though LOL.

i was rummaging through my bathroom cabinet the other day and discovered two cleansers that I’d never use again because they were too stripping… and I can’t think of a use for them!
