Oooops! In my magazine junkie mode, I accidentally bought a magazine meant for women over 40! Still, Prevention magazine had some good articles inside, so money not wasted
I thought I’d scan this for you, on the amount of skincare product you should use for optimum effect. I like how they used actual items in a photo to illustrate the amount. Please click to enlarge.

Looking at the picture, I’m convinced I’m still not using enough sunscreen on the face. A teaspoon for the face seems a lot, especially when I have oily skin. Why can’t they make facial sunscreens completely oil-free and matte so that I wouldn’t look like a well-oiled wok ready to fry an egg?
Sigh.

i totally agree.
a teaspoon of sunscreen?
i feel its too much and i’ll end up a as a walking disco ball
yikess.
Thanks for this post Tine, its definitely useful!!
Yeah i know we’re supposed to use a teaspoon for sunscreen but i can never do that!! I’m currently using like 1/4 of that amount, and already i feel like a greaseball! >.<
Oh dear! A teaspoonful? Goodness. I already get all those white oil spots from using 1/4 teaspoon. I am surely going to breakout if I try piling on sunscreen.
What about those mineral powder sunscreen?
bareMinerals SPF 30 Natural Sunscreen ??
I guess there are alot other powder form sunscreen, easier to reapply as well.

I feel that I seem to be under-using most of the skincare.. what are good recommendations for sunblock for a mineral make up user? prefer a physical one (that’s what they say we should use in Australia) and for oily skin.
I’ve been trying to use more sunscreen for sure, but never knew how much moisturizer to use until you posted this guide! Thanks
Have you tried the Shiseido suncreen or La Roche Posay water resistant sunscreen? Both of those have a mattifying effect which is too dry for my combo-dry skin, but maybe they will work for you.
i’ve thought of using sunscreen powders which are easier to apply and re-apply during the day, but i’m not sure how much to apply as well!
