What’s Your Wardrobe Like?

20090904 Walk In Closet

Do you have a walk-in closet? If you do, lucky you. How I envy those with walk-in ‘robes. My cousin in the US has one in her townhouse, and it’s gorgeous. Her room has an en-suite bathroom which connects to the wardrobe, and having that creative eye, she decorated it to look like a movie star’s changing room. It looked like something you’d see in an interior design magazine.

In Malaysia, we never had walk-in closets. All wardrobes are built-in, and we have that limited amount of space to store everything in. I don’t have one here either. In fact, the wee bit of space I have to store my clothes and stuff here is even smaller than my room in Malaysia!

Come, step into my wardrobe. Wait wait, step out, it’s not a walk-in 😉

Okay, tell me if this isn’t the smallest wardrobe you’ve ever seen. My husband and I have equal share of the wardrobe, and here’s my side. Too bad the apartment’s tiny and don’t have enough space for my stuff, because I definitely need more space than he does.

Too many clothes and not enough space = squashed and wrinkled wear. Boo!

And … that’s it! I have a chest of drawers for my tees and lingerie, but that’s about it. I can’t wait till I have a proper walk-in wardrobe so that I can store my bags and shoes properly. I mean, look at how I have to store my poor bags. They’re all squished up there! 🙁

I love how neatly your clothes are all hung up. Wait till you see what squished means in my wardrobe LOL… But like you I feel for my bags too. I don’t have a proper place to store them – have been thinking of putting up separate storage. Still, I have a “walk in closet” in a manner of speaking since the whole of the next room is technically a wardrobe. But I did not design it to be such and instead most my clothes are squished into the current limited built ins. Perhaps now I should 🙂

my wardrobe collapsed (twice!) so now my clothes hang on my towel rack 🙁

i definitely don’t have enough room for all of my clothes 🙁

my mom has a room to herself where she gets dress up and does her makeup and everything! Air-conditioned too! drats.

i definitely need a room like hers!

Can't wait to own my own place… i'll get my own "dressing room"! 😛

Interesting post, Tine! 🙂 Thanks for a peep in your wardrobe. hehe…I’m like you, forced to share half a wardrobe with my husband. Sigh….I definitely need more space too!!! I have two big tubs / containers where I store my t-shirts and work knits. I also have a space where all my home clothes are folded and a few drawers for my lingerie, belts and hosiery. He bought me a chest of drawers to squish my handbags in. haha…they’re still not enough! Will do a post on this…:) A bit messy though, heh

I wish I had a walk-in closet! But I only have a small wardrobe. Everything is so squashed and hard to find. 🙁 I like your closet, it’s nice and neat.

Nice one. My bags are squished too. Oh and if I’m not mistaken, that’s a spam comment. KILL IT! 😛

Mine is messy and tiny! It’s so tiny that I have the half of my stuff (shoes, mainly) “stored” in the guest’s room. And I had to buy a rack for my gazillion handbags because it’s impossible to correctly place them anywhere. I wish I had a walk-in…*sobs*

    Hi Tine.

I’ve been a silent reader since way way back 🙂 I like reading your blog. Always full of info. Today I saw something on tv… the Great Lash Mascara from Maybelline. They claim many many rave about it. It’s the one with the shocking green and hot pink colour. I was wondering whether you’ve done a review on it and where I can get one since it seems KL too doesnt have any (I’m from Sabah).

I’ve got a pretty huge wardrobe but it’s a MESSS!!! I wish I could be as organized as you are when it comes to keeping your clothes neat and tidy. I wonder if I’d be more motivated if I had pretty hangers instead of normal plastic ones? *cue bimbotic thinking pose*

    wow super tidy.
I have a closet like yours then i have plastic drawers for tops/dresses/scraves. my handbags goes on a bookcase and plastic bins.

I wish when i can afford my own place, i get a walk in closet =) its been my dream since a little girl ahahha

I have the same problem! I have my sisters old wardrobe so it’s only child sized. Admittadly I have a dressing table for jeans, tshirts and undies but STILL! It has close to collapse on a few occassions! I feel your pain
