Smith’s Rosebud Perfume Co. Salve In A Tube

Smith's Rosebud Salve In A Tube 1

Description:

This beloved multi-purpose essential not only moisturizes and soothes dry lips; it also calms and heals irritation, soothes the sting of minor burns, helps heal cuts, tames mangled cuticles, helps fix ashy elbows and knees, and minimizes diaper rash.
A hint of rose scent adds a delicately aromatic touch, without overpowering or cloying. Whether in a tube or a tin, Rosebud Salve is a mini moisturizing miracle.
It does NOT contain parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, phthalates, GMOs, triclosan

Ingredients:
Cotton Seed Oil, Aromol, Essential Oils, Petrolatum Base

The Rosebud salve is a very popular lipbalm in the US, and I managed to buy a strawberry-flavoured one on my honeymoon. As cute as the vintage tin was, it was a pain in the arse to have to dip my fingers into the balm just to rub it on my lips. Not very hygienic too, if you ask me. A week ago, when I was shopping on Kiss and Makeup NY for some NARS makeup, I stumbled upon the salve in a tube. Since it was only US$6, I threw it into the shopping cart as well.

The lipbalm in the tube is exactly the same as the ones in the tin. The balm has the same smooth consistency, hydrated my lips well without it feeling dry or tacky. The balm does not colour the lips or skin, despite the pink tint. It’s a great base for my lippies.

I’ve only used this on my lips, but you can use it like Lucas Papaw ointment as well, e.g. apply on irritated skin, soothe dryness, minor burns, etc. Best of all, since it comes in a tube, it’s very handy and hygienic. No more dipping of fingers into the balm!

Smith’s Rosebud Perfume Co. Salve In A Tube is available at Sephora and retails at US$6 for 0.5oz. I purchased mine from Kiss and Makeup NY. Unfortunately, it isn’t available in Australia. Bummer. The tinned version is better value for money – it’s the same price for 0.8oz. But for me, I prefer the tube anytime.

What I like about it: Pleasant scent, good base for lippies, cheap as chips.

What I do not like about it: It’s not available in Australia.

Note: If you’re in Australia, would like to purchase beauty products from brands like NARS, Trish McEvoy, Mario Badescu, Fresh, Smashbox, etc but don’t want to pay exorbitantly marked-up Australian prices, do check out Kiss and Makeup NY. Worldwide shipping is only US$7.95 flat rate. I received my package less than a week after I placed my order.
