Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream

Everyone knows that Bobbi Brown is world-famous for her makeup abilities, her makeup line, the shimmering bricks, neutral eyeshadow palettes etc. Skincare … perhaps not so much. When I was given the opportunity to give the hydrating eye cream a go, I was quite keen to try it out. At the very least, the sleek glass jar alone had me at hello.

Description:
A Bobbi Brown Must-Have. Bobbi uses this ultra-gentle moisturiser as the first step to flawless application of her Creamy Concealer Kit, the secret to the beauty universe. Hydrating Eye Cream is formulated for the delicate skin around the eye and minimises the look of fine, dry lines. Dermatologist and Ophthalmologist tested.

Bobbi Brown Hydrating Eye Cream Ingredients

The eye cream is fragrance-free, which is a check for me. Texture-wise, it’s slightly lighter than the Strivectin-SD Eye Cream I’ve been using for almost a year (but err, still haven’t reviewed. Oops), but still richer than most eye creams I’ve used.

Sad to say, this did not work for me. For some reason, something in the ingredients irritated my undereye area when I applied the eye cream, and it stung a little. Still, for the sake of *ahem* research, I persevered for two more weeks. Without any other changes to my skincare routine, with twice-weekly exfoliating, I was shocked to find milia sprouting below my eyes! With that, I immediately stopped.

I reckoned the eye cream was just a little too rich for my delicate undereye area. Pity. But now I have these unslightly bumps under my skin which I cannot remove just like that. If anybody has any suggestions as to how to get rid of them, I’d high appreciate them in the comments.

Bobbi Brown’s Hydrating Eye Cream retails at AU$75 for 15ml and is available at all leading departmental stores.

What I like about it: Sleek jar packaging, fragrance-free.

What I do not like about it: Expensive, too rich for my skin, and I still swear it gave me milia.

That is a real shame it didn’t work for you! I have had a great experience with her face cream.

I used to get milia spots all the time and my beautician would lance them and then clean the area with an alcohol-free toner. It seemed to really do the trick but you need a really steady hand so I could never do it to myself.

    Hope this helps a bit!

I have this problem sometimes too – I’m not absolutely certain, but I suspect the Barefoot Botanicals Rosehip Eye Cream I have might help… maybe you could try something with rosehip?

Sorry to hear the eye cream didn’t work out too well. The only way I got rid of milia was to have it removed with a special cashew nut cream. It left me with a black burnt mark for a week or so, but after that, my milia was gone!

As for Bobbi Brown’s skincare, I was given a sample of the night cream and it broke me out big time! I tossed it away immediately, and didn’t even have time to take a picture!

hello, according to two sources (the lady who did my facial and a lady at the clinique counter), if you have little whitish bumps at the lower bit of the area, it’s hard to reverse the effect. it kinda broke out because of the richness of the cream. i had the same thing happen to me when i was using shisedo’s skincare eye cream. they did suggest *stress* mild *end stress* exfoliation at the under eye area to see if it can be reduced. both said the same thing, but i can’t really tell if it worked for me. we just gotta be more careful next time, especially with eye creams. do tell us if you’ve found a good way to remove them!

I had a kind of milia under my left eye (not sure if it’s because Bobbi Brown corrector contains petrolateum). It stuck for about 3 months. I then started to use products with castor oil, like the David Jones Concealer medium. Within 1 week, the skin bumps greatly decrease. I also started this month in applying grapeseed oil (available from health stores) onto a cleansed face and under my eyes before placing a warm damp face cloth (for steaming) for 10 minutes, before rinsing. I do that once a week now. I dunno if that helps…I’m asian too
