June’s Beauty Haul

Methinks I didn’t do so bad in June, beauty haul-wise. Didn’t buy as much as last month, that’s for sure. It’s getting better, slowly but surely.

So, what did I get in June?

Nail Stuff

June's Beauty Haul 1

Bought a few nail products this month – Kit Cosmetics’ Capture the Moment Mini Nail Polish Kit from Kit Cosmetics, a pair of cuticles scissors and some orange sticks from Priceline. When I figure out how to use orange sticks, I’ll let you know. Just wondering, does anyone have any idea why they’re called ‘orange’ sticks? Are they made of the wood from orange trees? They’re surely not orange in colour. If you know, let me know!

June's Beauty Haul 2

Dermalogica’s Precleanse and Total Eye Care, which I purchased at the Dermalogica FITE Night. Reviews to come soon.

Crabtree & Evelyn’s Naturals Rejuvenating Creamy Body Wash and the Aromatherapy Distillations Soothing Body Lotion, which I bought at their mid-year sale. They were both at 50% off. Score!

June's Beauty Haul 3

Marc Jacobs Body Splash in Curacao, from Strawberrynet. I had a whiff of this at David Jones and I fell in love. I’m a big fan of orange scents and this one smells of delicious mandarin oranges. Yum!

June's Beauty Haul 4

Neutrogena’s Healthy Defence Daily Moisturiser SPF30+. This is my third tube. Yep, I love it that much.

June's Beauty Haul 5

Jurlique Moisturising Hand Sanitiser. Would this be a typical hand sanitiser, strong content of alcohol and reeking of it? Stay tuned for the review.

Last but not least, Illamasqua’s Cream Blush in Dixie. Phhwooarr to the bright coral! Too much? You know what’s coming next. Yep, a review 😉

Not too bad this month, right? Don’t think I’ve broke the bank. Yet.

Oh dear. Marc Jacob for Men are *thumbs up* I wonder is it too for women.

Jane: Marc Jacobs body splash range are unisex I reckon. I absolutely love it on me. There’s a hint of maleness in the scent that’s simply divine but subtle and sexy enough for a woman to wear. If anyone comments it as a male scent, you can just say it’s just mandarin oranges 😛

ooo I like the look of the Marc Jacobs – if you like the citrusy scent, I am so checking it out! 😀

    1. Tine

Beetrice: Oh you should! 300ml will last you a while. It dissipates very quickly though, since it’s only a splash, so you can pull off spraying yourself like mosquito spray without overwhelming others 😛

  4. Issa

i love the shades of your nail polish! 🙂

Issa: Those are so pretty, aren’t they? I’m loving the mini sizes too 😛

Wow- that is some impressive hauling!! Love the KIT coral polish & the blush. Precleanse and the eyecream are both on my wishlist, love that they are FITE too. The Marc Jacobs bottle is so like the D&G bottles don’t you think?

Me, my best and I: The Dermalogica prodz are fantastic. I’ve been using them for over two weeks now, and I’m very impressed. As for the MJ bottle, you are right! 😀

hi Tine – i agree with you, Neutrogena sunscreens are fab! how do you apply them though? before or after moisturizer? i’ve always applied mine after moisturizer but now i’m having a lot of people tell me it’s wrong.

    1. Tine

Domncroxd: Ahh, the ever popular question! Some say you should apply before, as to ensure efficacy of the sunscreen. Me, I like to put it after moisturiser. That’s in general, of course. For the Neutrogena Healthy Defence sunscreen, I skip moisturiser altogether and just slap this on. It’s a moisturising lotion with broad spectrum sunscreen, so in essence, it IS a moisturiser, so I don’t put moisturiser on at all when I use this. The only exception is winter though, as my skin tend to get drier then. I’d apply moisturiser first, then sunscreen. As for the age-old question of sunscreen or moisturiser first, I really don’t know. It’s personal preference, I suppose. I like face cream on first, then sunscreen 🙂
