Is Trilogy Age Proof Active Enzyme Cleansing Cream Really Age-Proof?

Now that I’m in my 30s, I’m actively searching for skincare products that can slow the aging process down. Yep, I’m in search of a miracle, I know. Sunscreens are a definite must. I’ve started using eye cream during the day (previous years I’ve only used eye creams at night), and I’m more aware of the ingredients I’d need for healthy, glowing, plump-y skin.

A month ago, I had the opportunity to try out Trilogy’s Age Proof Active Enzyme Cleansing Cream. Trilogy’s a brand that just amazes me. I’ve used a number of their products, and I’m really liking them. The Calming Fluid from the Sensitive Skin range is still my absolute favourite from the brand thus far.

So, how did this cleanser fare? Is it really age-proof, as the name claims?

Trilogy Age Proof Active Enzyme Cleansing Cream

Description:
Trilogy’s most luxurious cleanser to date, this silky, mousse-like formulation gently cleanses and polishes skin-dulling impurities to reveal smooth, refined skin with a bright and youthful glow.
Included in this must-have skincare essential are powerful fruit enzymes from Papaya and Pineapple Papaya and Pineapple. These active fruit enzymes active fruit enzymes gently retexturise and renew skin by polishing away the build up of impurities that dull skin complexions while reducing the appearance of wrinkles and uneven pigmentation. The addition of pure pure pplant oils pplant oils helps to nourish, soothe and leave skin perfectly prepared for maximum serum and cream absorption.

Trilogy Age Proof Active Enzyme Cleansing Cream Ingredients

The cream feels really luxurious on the skin. It’s creamy, not too rich, not too light, but just nice. A 10-cent-sized squirt on the palm is all you need for the face.

I love how it feels on the skin. It glides ever-so-smoothly, cleanses the skin well without leaving it dry or tight after a wash.

Okay, but is it really age-proof? Did it give my skin a youthful glow? Did it reduce the appearance of wrinkles and uneven pigmentation?

NAH. I’ve finished the whole tube, but there wasn’t any noticeable difference on the skin. It’s a cleanser. You slap it on, give your face a gentle massage for about 10 seconds, then you wash it off. Nothing stays on the skin long enough for any penetration of ingredients anyway. Apologies if I gave you the impression that a skin miracle happened 😛

Nevertheless, I still think it’s a good cleanser to use, simply because it feels damn good on the skin. Is it something I’d repurchase? Despite the hefty price tag, yes I would. It wouldn’t be something I’d use on a daily basis, but for days when I’m feeling downright lousy, and need some pampering done on the skin. A luxe cleanser like this, a relaxing facial sheet mask next…bliss.

Trilogy’s Age Proof Active Enzyme Cleansing Cream retails at AU$39.95 for 150ml and is available at MYER, Priceline, selected pharmacies and health food stores nationwide.

What I like about it: Very creamy and luxurious texture, does not leave skin dry and tight

What I do not like about it: Pricey for a cleanser

Hhmmm… I’ve never been too picky about cleansers. As long as it can wash away dirt and grime and not give me that tight feeling after, I’m OK. I heard good things about Philosophy’s Purity Made Simple though. Have you tried it before?

Lily: Me too. Not fussed about cleansers. As long as they cleanse well, doesn’t leave any greasy residue, doesn’t leave the skin feeling tight, anything will do.
Hmm, nope, haven’t tried that Philosophy one before. I’ll check it out the next time I’m at Mecca Cosmetica 🙂

Looks like an interesting product I don’t mind trying. But Trilogy’s products are so expensive here and so I managed to only try their rosehip oil, which I rather like.

Sesame: I’ve tried their rosehip oil, and I like it too. Have to use it very sparingly though, as I don’t like the oily residue on my skin 😛

I agree with you on this one Tine- I didn’t notice any difference on my skin, but it does what I want a cleanser to do.

Jen: Yeah, no miracles with this one. I’m always skeptical of cleansers that claim anti-aging functions. I mean, you wash it off after 10 seconds. How would the ingredients work?
