List of Lusts: Ballet Flats

I have an embarrassing case of flat feet, which makes buying shoes very difficult. Even more so when it comes to buying flats. I’ve had occasions when I purchased a $20 pair of ballet flats, and a $30 pair of shoe inserts just to make that pair of shoes more wearable. That’s why when it comes to flats, I’m incredibly picky and when I find a pair that suits me comfortably, I stick to it till it literally falls apart.

Finding a decent pair of flats that doesn’t look like something from Homyped is difficult (having said that, I do have a pair of moccasins from Homyped which is quite handsome and oh-so-comfortable). Still, a girl can dream, can’t she?

I LOVE ballet flats. They’re classy and they go with everything and most of all – they’re COMFORTABLE! When you’re travelling, they’re a lot better looking than runners 😐 I love ALL that you’ve posted. Word of warning – Tory Burch runs a little small so go a size up. Ferragamos are true to size – I tried on both the pairs you’ve posted up here yesterday while waiting for you πŸ˜‰ I didn’t buy any.

I highly-recommend my Bloch ones πŸ˜‰ You’ve seen them and they’re brilliant, simple black flats. GO GET THEM! πŸ™‚

I’m going to try out the Bloch ones. Saw them in you in real life, and they’re gorgeous. I love that they’re flat at the toes, cos I like to be able to wriggle mine in my shoes πŸ˜›

Oh that ones’s so pretty. One of my favorites in the lot.

i have big square flat feet, but ballet flats don’t seem to agree with my feet very much either πŸ™ they tend to cut into my feet or just tend to distort the shape of the flats. slippers/sandals are my only best bet. shame on my feet πŸ™

Xin: I know what you mean. My feet are okay, but I always prefer to wear square-toes shoes. Comfy shoes for me means that I should be able to wriggle my toes in them. I know that a lot of people would say that it means the shoes would be too big for me if I can do toe-wriggling, but if I can’t do that, it would mean that the shoes are too small. You know what I mean?
These days, so many flats have pointed toes which I really cannot stand. Pinches my toes something awful πŸ™

Cclarebear: Oooh I know, right? I practically live in flats too, but many of them don’t look good enough to wear in the evenings when I do go out. That Miu Miu one would jazz up any outfit pronto πŸ˜›

Nikki: Hahaha it’s fun when they’re so cheap, aren’t they? Unfortunately for me, I can’t do cheap flats anymore. My feet are freaking snobs now, they scream bloody murder if I wear Cotton On shoes or something πŸ™

Rinnah: Net-a-porter. Go get them. I’ve seen them in LeGeeque, and they look very good and comfy. I’m a firm believer in good quality comfy shoes. Cost per wear for these will be low, I’m sure πŸ˜›
I paid $90 for my current favourite pair of flats. I think its cost per wear’s negative dollars now. Hee hee! πŸ˜›

  7. Connie De Alwis

Love flats! I don’t like showing my toes and I’m not very good at walking in heels. Finding a pair of glam flats isn’t easy for sure!

Connie: High five sister! I think the only time I don’t mind showing a bit of my toes is when I wear peeptoes heels. Other than that, I practically live in my flats. Yeah, it isn’t easy finding a pair of good, comfortable glam flats. Most of the time, the glam ones are cheap, plasticky Vincci stuff which are uncomfortable and don’t last long, and the comfy ones are aunty aunty shoes from Scholl. Having said that, I do own aunty aunty shoes from Scholl, so who am I to talk, eh? πŸ˜›

I love flats! The lace ones are so pretty!

    1. Tine

Gio: The lace ones are my favourite of the lot too! I’ve seen some dupes around, eg at Target. Not comfortable though πŸ™

  9. Tara

I love wearing flats, in fact i haven’t worn heels in years!
There are some lovely flats out there, these pics are lovely. I love the Miu Miu flats the most!

    1. Tine

Tara: I used to wear a lot of heels back in Malaysia, but I’m a flats girl now ever since I moved to Australia. I’m walking a lot more now, so I need something comfortable. Back then, lazy me drove everywhere! πŸ˜›

  10. Megan

I love these, especially the Bloch ones. I pretty much live in ballet flats, I love shoes that are easy to slip on and off and comfortable but they have to have good padding in them or I find them painful.
Megan recently posted..October Empties – So many empties!!!My Profile

    1. Tine

Megan: I know what you mean. And that’s why I can only buy dearer pairs of flats because only those have padding in them. The cheapies often don’t have padding (when they call them flats, they really mean FLATS), and they’re bad for the feet and legs after a while. Like I said, I’ve purchased $30 padding for $20 shoes, and that’s just stupid.

  11. RM

I really like those lace ones, but I almost never wear ballet flats. I think they’re cute, but I honestly think most heels are more comfortable – ballet flats always seem to give me blisters!
RM recently posted..Massive NYX Swatchfest Part 1My Profile

    1. Tine

RM: I think there’s a difference between good (and most of the time, pricey) flats and cheap ones. The cheap ones are unpadded, very flat and incredibly uncomfortable. You’d be better off wearing heels as the latter will be more comfortable.
I’m currently wearing one which is so comfortable, I’ve literally worn it down. Soles are gone, front’s very scuffed, I’ve got bits of thread coming out. Now THAT, is a good pair of flats πŸ˜›

  12. dom

the ferragamo ones are classic – love those!

Dom: Me too! My mum actually gave me a pair (it was handed down to her by her sister), because she couldn’t wear it. It was too small for her. I can’t wear it either as it’s also too small for me. So now it’s sitting in a cupboard somewhere in my parents’ home in Malaysia, unworn. What an insult to Ferragamo πŸ˜›
