A Rich Wine Red like OPI’s Malaga Wine

OPI Malaga Wine

I stumbled upon this when I was in Malaysia. A dear friend and I went for a mani-pedi at an unknown nail salon at a relatively near shopping mall in Penang. There was a variety of OPI nail colours to choose from, and I randomly chose the Malaga Wine.

It ended up looking so good on my nails, that I had it on chip-free with no tip wear for 7 days. I’m the kind of person who does not have the same nail polish on longer than 3-4 days (even my CND Shellac was only on my nails for about 5 days, and that was supposed to last me 2 weeks!), so to have this on for so long and looking so good, well, it was love.

When BeautyBay.com had their free international shipping promotion, I jumped on the chance to get the Malaga Wine.

This isn’t a new shade from OPI, nor is it part of their bestselling range. But it has become one of my favourite red lacquers. It’s a beautiful creme of rich red wine like a shiraz or a merlot πŸ˜›

Chanel Rouge Carat! But this is a great red. I’m a huge fan of cremes because of the jelly-like finish. πŸ™‚

So beautiful and glossy, I feel like touching your nails πŸ˜‰ I really like OPI although there are so many others to choose from these days. I find they have one of the longest-wearing formulas.

Lyn: Hehehe touch away! I agree. I never used to think OPI was all that, but I suppose I haven’t really tried them much to know. They do have the longest-wearing formula of all the nail polishes I have πŸ™‚

Beetrice: I gave my mum that one when I bought it at Melb airport πŸ˜› I prefer cremes and jellies to the ones with shimmer but that one (well, and the Chanel Rouge Carat) are stunning πŸ˜›

It’s surprisingly wearable and not as fierce as I anticipated! Looks great on you! πŸ™‚

Milktea: Thanks! Oh no, not fierce at all. For me, fierce colours would be a bright blue-red, y’know? Very meow πŸ˜‰

I can imagine this to be perfect for the upcoming Autumn!!

My favourite red is probably Ulta3’s Sizzling Red! Lovely crimson red!! :’)

YSL Fuchsia Cubiste. It looks brighter and more intense than Malaga Wine, but it is cooler, more berry-like shade. It changes color depending on the lightning conditions from fuchsia, fire red, through blood red, cherry red, purple red, maroon and almost black. I have never seen a burgundy/ wine nail polish as intense and changing as this one before. If it wasn’t for the price and wiping off fast I would wear it constantly πŸ˜€

I had to Google swatches of YSL’s Fuchsia Cubiste but oh my goodness, it is beautiful! <3
