Cosmetic Skin Solutions Day Moisturizing Creme Is Another CSS Winner

Cosmetic Skin Solutions Day Moisturizing Creme Advanced Formula +

The first time I stumbled upon Cosmetic Skin Solutions, I knew I discovered something good. It’s seldom to discover skincare products that are fuss-free, says what it does and more without the hefty price tag. It’s no wonder that I go back for more.

During one of their 5% off sales, I snapped up more serums to try as CSS is popular for their amazing serums. In my quest for trying new things, I decided to also pick up the Day Moisturizing Creme.

I mean, if the serums are THAT good, the moisturiser can’t go wrong, right? Well, I’d say, read on and find out. ๐Ÿ˜›

Description:
This luxurious daily use moisturizing crรจme is specifically formulated with marine and sea algae to provide minerals and amino acids in providing soothing, anti-inflammatory, and nourishing properties. This unique formula has pore minimizing properties using a blend of cinnamon, ginger, and natural astringents witch hazel, willow bark, and horsetail extracts to rid worn out skin cells and dulling toxins to thoroughly clean and keep the skin clear.
An exclusive combination of plant extracts chamomile, cucumber, and aloe provide additional soothing, calming, conditioning, anti-inflammatory properties. Vitamin A smoothes the skins surface as the powerful antioxidants of vitamin E fights free radicals and protects the skin. This nourishing crรจme restores and maintains moisture leaving the skin feeling hydrated and protected.

The moisturiser is a thick gel that resembles a cream. The consistency is somewhat like Clinique’s Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief but slightly richer. It certainly has a luxury feel to it. It’s fragrance-free but due to the cucumber extract, it smells like fresh cucumbers on your skin (much like when you put two slices of cucumbers on your eyes). It absorbs into the skin fairly quickly without leaving any oily residue.

Unlike the Clinique Moisture Surge that feels like water on skin, this gel has a velvety feel to it due to its content of silicone. It’s nowhere as heavy as silicone primers but you can’t omit that slippery texture. It’s no wonder they call this a day cream because it works as a great base for makeup. Foundation and BB creams apply over the moisturiser very well.

As a moisturiser, it’s a decent one. It keeps the skin well hydrated throughout the day without any dryness or tightness. It doesn’t hide fine lines or brighten the skin but I wasn’t expecting it too. The added silicone in the gel cream fills in the pores, giving my skin a smooth finish. It’s a no-nonsense moisturiser and works jolly well. It might not be rich enough for those of you with dry skin but it’s certainly more than sufficient for oily to combination skin.

If I have to nitpick, I’d say it would be an added bonus if the moisturiser also contains SPF. This can be used at night as well, of course, but it’s strange to specify it a day moisturiser when there’s no added SPF. Then again, I always use a separate sunscreen so this doesn’t really bother me.

Here comes the best part. For a decent moisturiser like this, it doesn’t cost more than US$30. For bigger brands, I’d expect a similar formula to be about double the price. I’ve seen mediocre moisturisers selling at higher prices. Is this something I’d repurchase? Most definitely.

Cosmetic Skin Solutions Day Moisturizing Creme Advanced Formula + retails at US$29.85 for 50ml and is available at CosmeticSkinSolutions.com. At the time of writing, the Customer Appreciation 5% discount is still available so if you’d like to check out their skincare products, I highly recommend you try out their serums as well, especially the Vitamin C+E serum. They also have a 20% Vitamin C serum if you’re looking for something more heavy duty. I’m not affiliated with Cosmetic Skin Solutions so I don’t get anything if you buy something. But really, when you stumble upon something that good, you’ve got to share it, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

What I like about it: Good moisturiser, keeps skin hydrated and protected, the velvety texture makes a good base for makeup.

What I do not like about it: No SPF

What’s your favourite daytime moisturiser? Does it matter if it doesn’t contain SPF?

My favourite daytime moisturiser is Estee Lauder’s Advanced Time Zone
Age Reversing Line/Wrinkle Hydrating Gel Oil-Free. I bought this after reading the reviews on yours and Lily’s blogs :-). Since I already use sunscreen with very high SPF, I am fine that this moisturiser does not have SPF. As the Estee Lauder moisturiser if pretty expensive, I am also using Yves Rocher 24H Intense Hydrating Gel Cream at night. I don’t think this one has SPF as well.

Hahaha no wonder I thought the moisturiser sounded familiar ๐Ÿ˜‰ As long as you’re using a separate sunscreen, nothing wrong with using moisturisers without SPF. In fact, if you’ve run out of your night cream, you can use your day one instead!
