Maybelline’s Color Whispered Who Wore It Red-er? Why, Me!

Maybelline Color Whisper in Who Wore It Red-er

I first heard of the Maybelline Color Whispers on YouTube. It seems to be quite a hit amongst a lot of beauty bloggers and YouTubers. As usual, I was thinking “when the heck are these coming here??” Well, well. Fast forward a month or two later, it’s finally here! I had the opportunity to try out a few shades and today, I want to show you one of my favourite shades in the range and that’s the Who Wore It Red-er.

It swatches a bright pink in the photoes but in real life and on my lips, it’s a beautiful, beautiful deep raspberry pink. It has cool blue tones in it, and the texture is silky smooth. It goes on like a lipbalm, feels like a lipbalm (the non-waxy kind), yet the colour packs quite a punch. Some of the other Color Whispers are pretty sheer but the Who Wore It Red-er is quite pigmented. The swatch you see here is 2 swipes of the lippie.

The Color Whispers are often compared to Revlon’s Lip Butters. For me, I prefer the Color Whispers as they feel and go on smoother on the lips. Even though the Lip Butters aren’t actually heavy on the lips, when compared to the Color Whispers, I’d say that the Maybelline ones feel lighter and have a glossier finish.

Even though this goes on bright, the Color Whispers are meant to give a “whisper” of colour on the lips so just like a tinted lip balm, they don’t stay on the lips very long. This didn’t last me past a meal. With a shade so pretty, no biggie; I’m happy to reapply multiple times of the day. If you have to choose just one shade out of all the Color Whispers, I highly recommend this! 🙂

Maybelline’s Color Whispers retail at AU$14.95 each and are now available at most pharmacies and supermarkets nationwide.

Have you tried any of the Color Whispers before? Do you like them?

I haven’t tried these as they aren’t securely packaged and I seem to live in an area where ‘ladies’ think it’s ok to swatch the products. So I’ve looked, but most of the products are damaged.

I know, right? I like how smooth it goes on the lips too. Not waxy or dragging at all.
