A Beauty And Fashion Surprise Each Month with Her Fashion Box

You have your beauty boxes. There’s fashion boxes. Then you have food boxes. There are also wine boxes, undies boxes and so on. I look forward to the day when they’ll have tradie boxes where each month, tradies get new shiny tools to play with. Now that, I’d like to see. πŸ˜‰

Her Fashion Box

There are specific subscription services for specific niches. Beauty boxes contain only beauty products. Fashion boxes contain only fashion, er, things. But what if you’re a fan of both? Well, that’s where Her Fashion Box comes in!

Her Fashion Box

Now I was actually sent a box to review last month but I’ve decided not to review it. Instead, I’d like to give you an overall view of what the subscription service is like from a subscriber’s perspective because I’m a subscriber myself! Sometimes boxes sent for review contain more products than they would normally contain on a monthly basis. It looks very good but there’s no way a regular subscriber would receive that many items per box whilst still only paying a minimal fee. I wouldn’t want to mislead you if the boxes are actually lacking and don’t have that many products so I thought I’ll tell you what’s in the boxes I paid for instead.

The photos you see today are from the October box. I forgot to take photos of the earlier boxes. Bad blogger! πŸ˜›

Her Fashion Box October Version

Her Fashion Box is an Australian beauty-fashion box subscription that was recommended by Norlin. That chica knows her stuff so I thought I’d give it a go as well. For β€œresearch”, I decided to do a trial run on the subscription service for a few months to see if they’re worth the dosh.

When you sign up for the service, you’re required to fill in your profile page. You’re also required to select what type of styles you’re after. Her Fashion Box comes in 3 styles: Classic, Feminine and Trendy. Each style contains slightly different products from each other according to its theme. As I wasn’t sure which style I’d be, I chose the safest option and that’s Classic. Yeah, I’m boring like that. πŸ˜›

Previous months’ boxes

The difference between Her Fashion Box and other beauty box subscriptions is this: instead of deluxe samples, you get full-sized beauty products each time. There aren’t a lot of beauty products because, after all, it’s called Her Fashion Box so the main pieces in the box are fashion accessories. Last month, I received a clutch, a ring, a bracelet, a couple of Maybelline nail lacquers and more. These came in the box I paid for, not the one sent for editorial consideration. You also get a free mini Her Fashion Box magazine with the box each month. It’s an in-house magazine showing you the different items the other themes come with, how to style the accessories, mini reviews of the beauty products, etc.

At AU$39.95 a month, Her Fashion Box is more expensive than the conventional beauty boxes out there. But I have to say, I’m actually quite impressed with the boxes. It’s an interesting concept and one that will surely appeal to the fashion-inclined. I wouldn’t say that the fashion accessories are the best in terms of quality (think Colette, Lovisa and Diva, not so much departmental store items) but they’re not bad at all. The month before last, I received a lovely animal print scarf, which I wore it a lot whilst on holiday.

Her Fashion Box September Clutches

Clutches from the September box. The clutch on the left was from the Trendy box that was sent to me for review. The studded clutch on the right was in the Classic box, which I paid for

It’s been 3 months and my β€œresearch” period should be over by now. Oh what the hell, I’ll continue with the subscription for a while more. I do enjoy being surprised with different fashion and beauty goodies every month. If you love your fashion accessories AND beauty goodies, you might enjoy Her Fashion Box too. πŸ™‚

What do you think? Is this something you’d be interested in, beauty products AND fashion accessories in one box? What other box ideas do you think brands will come up with? Oooh how about a monthly shoes box? I’d totally go for that! πŸ˜€

It’s actually pretty good. I’m hoping for more scarves πŸ˜›

I think this is one of the best subscription service out there. And I am saying this just based on the bloggers pics. I am really tempted to get on board

I’ve not had any bad issues with HFB so far. The products are pretty good, especially the fashion accessories. My favourites so far, from when I subscribed, were the scarf and clutch. I’d say go for it! You can cancel at any time πŸ™‚

i love the clutch! and the little infinity ring! but if the price is translated to RM, definitely not something i would sub for in a long run. afterall, if there’s already a collection of everything at home, no need to add on to the stash πŸ˜›

Hahahaha, I wouldn’t get it if it was converted to RM either! But if it’s RM 39.95, it’s not bad πŸ˜‰

I didn’t initially think this was worth it, but then I received a box for review and really liked it! I do think it’s worth it, if you’re into beauty and accessories. Plus, it’s like getting a present every month πŸ™‚

I can’t remember if the box I received for review contained exactly the same amount of products the box I paid for. I’m usually skeptical of boxes sent to bloggers for review because they tend to contain more products than what people would normally pay for. I *think* this box was the same. I’m satisfied with this one so far. πŸ™‚

Seems like a unique box! I like that there is more than just makeup. I ordered the Allure Beauty Box a few months ago and I’ve hardly made a dent in the products, but at least you have stuff that you can use over and over .. like the necklace and clutch.

Yeah, that’s what I thought. I wasn’t too interested in the beauty products. I was actually more looking forward to the fashion accessories every month πŸ™‚

From the photos above, I was squealing in delight to see so many items that caught my eyes. The clutch, necklace, ring and the concept of beauty and fashion fusioned in a box. I turned green with envy. Now having that said, I don’t think the industry or entrepreneurs in Malaysia will catch this wave anytime soon. If we do get it, I have a nagging feeling that the quality may not be up to par. But to be fair, I don’t subscribe to any of the beauty boxes around. It is interesting to note that the creativity in this beauty box industry is remarkable. Fashion and beauty in a box? Wow! I hope you enjoy the following boxes and that they keep up with the enthusiasm and innovation as well.

It would be interesting to see if Malaysian subscription companies pick up this concept as well. In terms of quality, it wouldn’t be bad in comparison, at least, I don’t think so. The only thing I foresee is keeping the prices low enough for people to subscribe. Even if it’s kept to RM50 a month, do you reckon if it’s something ladies would be interested in?

Talking about tradies boxes, isn’t that a screwdriver necklace? πŸ˜‰

Thank you SO much for reviewing something as a paid subscriber – I am SO sick of seeing wonderful reviews of beauty boxes that have LOADS more items, or are the ‘A’ list of boxes that have been sent out for ‘editorial review’ by the companies to bloggers, and then they swear blind that those boxes are ‘exactly the same, or exactly the same RRP, as all the other boxes sent out’. Balls they are. It just winds me *right* up (as you can tell from my rant here lol) – if you want business, what’s wrong with just being honest to people, we’re not all extremely thick you know, we can quite easily tot up the amount you handily include of the RRPs on our little card and see its not the same RRP, nor is the ‘perceived price’ the same as the boxes that are sent out for review purposes. OK, rant over. Sorry πŸ˜›

Love the mention of previous box items and how much use you’ve had from them as well, really flags it up as a good value subscription imho, and something that I value far more than the basically paid for reviews on most other people’s blogs πŸ˜€ The studded clutch looks fab as well πŸ˜€

I know what you mean, hence my skepticism of boxes sent for review. I’ve seen boxes sent to bloggers for review that contain almost double the amount of products that are usually sent to paying customers. Bloggers can review it fairly but the boxes alone are an issue because it’s just not what people will usually get each month. I wasn’t expecting a box to be sent to me for review; I subscribed to the service a couple of months before receiving the box. I thought I’d review it in the paid subscriber’s perspective instead. Heck, would I hand over $39.95 each month for this? So far, I’d say yes πŸ™‚

It’s my first time heard about fashion box. Beauty box is the trend for quite some years. But I’m glad that there is a fashion box nowadays! I love beauty and fashion items together in the box! It’s a great idea! I will not go for shoes box as shoes are quite personal and everybody has own preferences on shoes type and design.

    1. Tine

Haha true, you make a good point there about shoe boxes. It is quite a personal thing. By the way, have you seen the lingerie boxes? One new pair of panties each month! I found the concept hilarious πŸ˜›

  10. Sunshine

I used to be subscribed but I found that the monthly rate was a bit much considering I didn’t fully enjoy my last boxes. I do plan to re-subscribe just for my birthday though because it is fun getting a “surprise” package.

    1. Tine

I know what you mean. That’s why I unsubscribed to a couple of boxes last year. When it’s underwhelming each month, feels like a waste of money when there’s nothing you like.
