Preloved Makeup Sale Announcement

Preloved Makeup Sale Announcement

It’s been a while since I’ve done a preloved makeup sale (i.e. blog sale). A couple of weeks ago, I did a huge decluttering of my beauty products; I have piles of products to give away, to donate and lastly, to sell. I’ve been wanting to do a preloved makeup sale for months now but only got down to business a few weeks ago.

This time, the preloved makeup sale is going to go down a little differently than before. The terms and conditions will still be the same; I put them up on the blog and hopefully you’ll make a purchase.

Instead of keeping all the money this time, 100% of the sale proceeds will go to Beyond Blue.

Beyond Blue

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Beyond Blue, it’s an Australian initiative to raise awareness of anxiety and depression, providing resources for recovery, management and resilience. I’ve not mentioned this on the blog before but Tim works in mental health and in my mid 20s, I suffered from depression (I won’t tell you the level of severity but needless to say, it was bad). It was an incredibly tough time in my life and very few people knew about my condition.

Depression is often downplayed in Asia. Back in school, we used to joke about how “depressed” we were just because we had a lot of homework to do. I didn’t know what depression really meant until it hit me years later. It’s debilitating and it changed me significantly. My parents knew but they didn’t push me. They were there for me when I needed them and I really appreciated that. A handful of close friends helped me through it. But what about those who had or have no help or support at all? That’s why organisations like Beyond Blue mean a great deal to me because they can help.

Anyway, enough about me. This was supposed to be a fun announcement! My point is, every cent you pay for any of the products you see on sale here will go to Beyond Blue. When I first told Tim that I wanted to sell off at least 50% of my makeup, he thought I was crazy because so much money went to them. He immediately changed his mind when I told him all the proceeds would be going to Beyond Blue and thought it was a great idea. I will post a copy of the donation receipt on the blog after the sale is over.

Preloved Makeup Sale Sneak Peek

Just a heads up about what will go on sale: a lot of my blushes will be on sale. There will be lots of makeup from Guerlain, NARS, MAC, TheBalm, Benefit, Soap and Glory, Laduree, SUQQU and so on with a number of limited edition items that you will not be able to get your hands on anymore (unless you pay a fortune for them on eBay). Oh, and heaps of BB creams! There’s only so much BB cream I can use after reviewing them on my BB Creamology series. 🙂

So if you’re not going away during the long Easter break (like me!) and are looking to score preloved makeup at low prices, please set your alarm for tomorrow’s day before Easter at 10am Melbourne time. Your purchase will go towards a great cause and I thank you all very kindly in advance. If you could help me spread the word to your makeup-loving friends and family as well, I’d really appreciate it.

Can’t wait for the sale to begin!

I’ll definately try and pick something up even though I have Tutor at the time!

Would you be willing to do pick ups in Melbourne cbd? Just to save on postage (and buy more lol)

    1. Tine

Happy to do pick ups! Anything to save on postage man. Australia Post is making too much money out of us. KAKAKAKAKA!

I see Guerlain ballz going up for sale?! :O That said, I think it’s wonderful of you to channel the proceeds to a charity 😀 I’m about to do a major purge myself, out of necessity than anything else 🙂

Yep, the bebolas are going on sale. With a heavy heart. I barely use them and figured will go to better homes and will be appreciated more. I’m keeping my very first bebolas as they’re still my favourite of the lot. 🙂

Hello Tine! It’s so lovely to hear about both the sale and the fact that proceeds will go to help those who are “struggling” with life a little. Depression is still very much frowned upon in many Asian countries and I know how you must have felt back that as I’m pretty much going through the same thing. Looking forward to tomorrow’s sale!! xxx

Thanks Sukie, and well said. Depression is very hush hush in Asia; at least that’s what it is in Malaysia. No one talks about it. Sigh. It was bloody difficult back then. I hope you’re talking to someone about it, a friend, family, etc. 🙂 x

Is this sale today Saturday or tomorrow Sunday?

    1. Tine

Hi Jane, it’s on Saturday, 19 April at 10am Melbourne time.

  6. Victoria

Thank you Tine for being so kind and thoughtful. Just saw the blog sale post yesterday as I was away for Holy Week. and most of my favourites are already sold out. LOL. But I am glad they are going to good homes. Depression is something hardly mentioned in Asia. My husband went through depression in his late twenties and only his faith in God pull him through. But it has made him stronger and more understanding on other people’s plight. So glad you had family support in your case. Nothing beats that 🙂

Thanks for sharing that, Victoria. Depression pull me away from God. It was bad. I stopped going to church for a few years and I couldn’t even listen to Christian songs without getting angry. But you know what? Even so, He never gave up on me. Those years showed me how incredibly faithful He is to me and how I’m now more faithful to Him. 🙂
