Read My Lips: Dior Addict Fluid Stick in 338 Mirage

Dior-Addict-Fluid-Stick-Campaign

Not a gloss, not a lacquer, not a lipstick… Dior Addict Fluid Stick is a totally new kind of lip product. A spectacular fluid that you can barely feel… What it does is combine maximum colour impact, glossy shine and a “no-makeup” feel in a lip colour boasting sensational hold and comfort.

When I first saw the Dior Addict Fluid Sticks in pictures, the first thing I thought was “ooh they look similar to the YSL Glossy Stains and L’Oreal’s Shine Caresse lipglosses!“. And they are. Well, somewhat similar. The one I got to try out was the 338 Mirage. I don’t normally wear a lot of nude lip colours but this one sure is pretty.

Looking at the packaging alone, you’d think that it’s a lipstick because of the “bullet” end but that’s actually the bottom of the lipgloss as you unscrew the top to reveal a typical lipgloss doe-foot applicator. You’ll be able to see the shade of the lip product from the bullet. How very clever.

Dior describes the 338 Mirage as beige but I know beige. Beige is boring. This one isn’t. It’s a beautiful coral-toned milky nude and can look very good on the lips but to be honest, I do find it difficult to get the amount of product on my lips just right sometimes. If I just swipe the applicator on my lips, it looks very milky on my lips, especially when the product sinks into the fine lines. In order to make it look more natural, I have to swipe, smack my lips together, gently press a piece of tissue on the lips to remove any excess, smack my lips again and repeat until the lippie looks natural on my lips. I don’t know if it’s just the Mirage or if this happens to the rest of the shades as well. I reckon it could just be the Mirage given its milky nude colour. If you have the Fluid Sticks in other vibrant shades, please let me know if you experienced this as well.

It’s not as watery as the L’Oreal Shine Caresse; it’s a lot creamier that reminds me more of the YSL Glossy Stains which are also quite creamy. Having said that, this isn’t a lip stain like the two. It’s a lip gloss with minimal staying power. The Mirage only stays on the lips for as long as you don’t eat or drink anything. Once you do, you’ll need to remove any remainder of lip product (you’ll find bits of residue on your lip line) and then reapply with a fresh coat.

I’m really tempted to get the one in Wonderland, which is a bright fuchsia. I’ve seen that on other women and the colour is stunning. I need another lippie like I need a third nipple, right?

Come on, work with me here. 😛

Dior Addict Fluid Sticks retail at AU$50.00 each and are available at MYER, David Jones and selected pharmacies nationwide.

Have you tried any of the Fluid Sticks before? What do you think? Worth the dosh for a luxury indulgence?

I just this last week got a free deluxe sample w/ 4 of the Dior Addict Fluid Stick colors with a Nordstrom’s order that came. I haven’t tried the Mirage color in it yet, I have tried the 551 Aventure and it is beautiful and goes on so smooth, I mention it in my Friday Ahh’s or Nahh’s blog post going live in morning! The Aventure color lasted on my lips for like 4 hours, it is a coral orange color.
