Talking Scents: Chloé Eau de Parfum

Chloé Eau de Parfum

Top notes: Pink peony, Freesia and Lychee
Middle notes: Rose, Lily-of-the-valley, Magnolia
Base notes: Cedar wood, Amber and Honey

You know I very seldom write about perfumes but you know what, I want to try. I’m quite dull in my choices of perfume but when I do fall in love with one, boy do I fall head over heels.

The Chloé EDP is my latest acquisition. It’s not a new perfume by any means but the size of it is. It’s a limited edition 20ml and while it is definitely a lot more expensive in terms of price per ml compared to, say, a 100ml one, it’s an absolutely perfect size for me. If only all perfumes come in this small size too; I’ll be able to try a lot more fragrances without needing to splash out on a minimum of 30ml that I’ll most likely never finish.

Chloé Eau de Parfum

The funny thing is, when this perfume was first launched, it didn’t stand out to me at all. In fact, I thought it had a very forgettable scent. If you asked me why I’m attracted to it this time (other than the novelty size), my answer is … beats the hell out of me. 😛

The Chloé parfum is fresh, it’s floral, it’s beautiful. I don’t normally fall for floral notes but there’s something about this that brings me to a garden of roses. I’m not a fan of the Roses version of the Chloé perfume (too, er, rosy) but this one, this one I can imagine actually finishing. It’s soft, not heady and possibly not what you’d classify as a wintery fragrance but I’m never one to stick to seasonal scents anyway.

Have you tried the Chloé EDP before? Did you like it? Do you think all perfumes should also come in this size?

I happened to finish 50ml bottle of this perfume few weeks ago. Got it as a gift from a friend. It’s okay but not something I’ll come back to. I can finish bigger bottle of perfume, but the idea of 20ml bottle is great. Especially if u planned to give it out as a gift as it may not suit the recipient’s taste..

I love the idea of small bottles of perfume. The standard ones are usually 30ml, 50ml or 100ml. I find that even the 30ml one is too much for me. The only way I could finish a bottle of perfume is if I stick to only 1-2 perfumes. I used to do that many years ago. These days, I want to be able to try more, which also means I end up wasting a lot of it because it takes a very long time to finish just one bottle of perfume. Ish, first world problems right here!
Yeah, great idea for the smaller bottles as gifts too. They look cuter, are slightly cheaper and if the recipient doesn’t really like it, it’s not a lot of product to waste.

That’s youtube beauty vlogger Essiebutton’s favorite perfume (or one of it I think)!
I didn’t fancy this Chloe perfume, its too feminine and forgettable to me.
See by Chloe is much more my style! 🙂

Hahaha her favourite’s the Rose version (stalker much?? :P). I like the See by Chloe one too! Really hope they’ll do a 20ml novelty version of the See by Chloe perfume; I’d definitely get that!

I agree with you. I go small every time. I think all perfumes “turn”, even if they are in sealed, air-tight bottles so small is good.

Yep they do. I have a few perfumes that are unopened, still sealed and kept in their boxes. Months later, I found that there was only 1/3 left in each bottle! They were unopened! The mysterious case of the disappearing perfume, I tell ya. My Chanel No 5 has turned too with time but I can’t bear to chuck it so I leave it as decoration.

oh it’s one of my favorite perfumes, have you tried love by chloe that one is also really nice

    1. Tine

No I’ve not tried that out but I sure will now! 🙂

I haven’t tried that one but I do love Chloe Intense. It is a firm favourite of mine since getting it last year. My other favourite is Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker, good for our hot Qld summers 🙂

Haha Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker was only of the very few celebrity fragrances that I like!

I haven’t tried this perfume. I agree with you, I would purchase more perfumes if they came in smaller bottles. With my allergies I can’t wear perfumes everyday. I have started only buying perfumes that come in small sized like this or in small rollerballs.

See, that’s why they should sell smaller bottles of perfume! Of course it’ll cost a lot more per ml but I’m very sure there’ll be demand for them as well. I’m happy to buy smaller bottles at high prices per ml, use them all up rather than spend a lot of money on one big bottle but never finish it.

I loooove this perfume! I probably own 50-60 different fragrances but Chloe EDP is up there with my all time favourites. I could see it becoming a signature scent actually. To me it’s basically perfect. It’s shower-fresh with just enough hint of powdery floral femininity. It also suits every occasion! It fits with jeans and a jumper or a ballgown.

I agree with you, I don’t like the rose version but I would like to try the Intense version. I’m getting married in winter next year and I have a feeling it might suit the occasion perfectly!

WOW 50-60 perfumes? Share a picture please! 😀 I didn’t understand why I didn’t fall in love with the Chloe EDP sooner; in fact I didn’t really like it when I sniffed it the first few times. But now, it’s love.

I think it’s about time that I place an order.
