Question: What’s Your Favourite Body Moisturiser?

Happy Wednesday, ladies!

My question for today is a simple one – what’s your favourite body moisturiser?

20090701 Body Lotion 1

I’ve got way too many body moisturisers to begin with. Tubs of barely used body butters, bottles of body lotions and creams – seriously, if I were to stop buying body moisturisers, it would take at least two years before my current supply depletes. Everytime I’m at Priceline or Myer/David Jones, I’m tempted with different types of lotions and potions.

No wonder the husband thinks that these places are evil 😉

Of all the body moisturisers I’ve tried, there were a couple which I repurchased due to actual supply depletion – The Body Shop’s African Spa cocoa butter (the range has been renamed to Spa Wisdom Africa Spa) and St Ives Whipped Silk Advanced Body Moisturiser. I used the former when I was in the UK and Japan. I remembered using Johnson’s Baby Lotion religiously, trying to get rid of the increasingly-peely dry skin and rashes from my body due to the very low humidity, but to no avail. In the end, my mum handed me a tub of the African Spa cocoa butter and advised me to use it. To be honest, I don’t like the smell of cocoa butter (I still don’t), and I really disliked using it. However, after a week, the rashes disappeared and the dry peels healed. I don’t know why but it never occurred to me to get another version of body butter; I just kept using that smelly ol’ African Spa for years 😛

Golly, I went on and on there and I didn’t even mention my favourite body moisturiser!

It was by chance that I stumbled upon St Ives’ Whipped Silk. A small tube of it came free with a bottle of shampoo I purchased, and the moment I slathered it onto my skin, I was hooked. I simply adored the scent (not overpowering) and how light and non-greasy it was. This worked very well in Malaysia and during Australian summers, but it’s not moisturising enough for winter use. So I save this for hot seasons, and go back to my thick rich body creams come winter. This way, I have an, erm, excuse to shop for summer and winter body creams. Schneaky 😛

So that’s my story. What’s yours? What’s your favourite body moisturiser? Do you use different ones for the day and night? I want to know of the body lotions and creams you love. Y’know, just in case I want to get a new one *winketty wink*.

My First Dior Eyeshadow Quint!

I haven’t been buying makeup in months now, and to quench that bit of a dry spell, I succumbed to temptation a couple of weeks ago and bought this.

20090630 Dior Quint ES Sky Glow 1

I’m so excited; I finally have a Dior quint eyeshadow palette of my own after drooling over so many for so long. Mind you, the one I bought wasn’t even from the current season. In fact, I have no idea when this palette was launched (some help, ladies?). Thanks to Strawberrynet and Geekchic‘s 10% discount, I managed to get this at AU$60.

Behold, the 5-colour iridescent eyeshadow palette in Sky Glow.

The packaging’s luxurious, and the shadows are really pretty. I swatched them, but didn’t show them here as the colours are pretty sheer. Still, the texture’s creamy, and I really like the blue. Can’t wait to try them out tonight when I head out to the cinema for Transformers 2 tonight.

Now that I’m holding the palette in my hands (well, holding it and then letting it go to type this out. Obsessed much?), I’m really tempted to get another one (or two. Or three). Especially the ones from the Summer 2009 collection.

I want these BAD *gulp*.

On another note, I received this in the mail yesterday.

20090630 Eyeko Freebies

Yep, they’re my Eyeko ambassador goodies. The cleansing wipes are going straight into my travel case. I’m going to try out something from Eyeko next. What with rave reviews from beauty bloggers, relatively low prices and free international shipping, I’m bound to stumble upon some gems. Oh and if you do shop at Eyeko, do enter the special code E2779 to receive a free gift with your order.

Happy Tuesday, ladies!

Thank Lordy Megan Fox Ain’t Perfect After All

I don’t need to remind you of how hot men find Megan Fox. I was just catching up on the first installment of Transformers (I’ve actually never watched the movie) before the hubs and I watch Transformers 2 next week. I mean, heck even I was turned on looking at that body. Girl crush, anyone?

20090625 Megan Fox 2

Before watching the movie, I remembered seeing her on covers of magazines, and obviously hating her at the same time because she looked so damn good. Perfect skin, perfect body *grumble*

Until a couple of days ago, when I saw her face close up a few times on the DVD.

Megan Fox has acne scars!

Not pimples, mind you, but scars. If you don’t believe me, go watch the DVD and pay close attention to her. You’ll see a LOT of her close-up (yeah, figures).

Sigh, I know, so shallow of me to pick on that. I still think she’s hot; yet, it’s gratifying somewhat to know that the airbrushed-sex-on-legs-celebrity suffers skin problems like us too 😛
