Review: Benefit Posietint

When news and pictures of the new Benefit Posietint reached my ears, I was very excited in getting my hands on the lip and cheek stain. I am quite a fan of the Benetint, so when I found out that the Posietint was going to be pink, I knew I had to get it.

Benefit Posietint

Description:

The cheekiest flush you can get from a bottle. Our petal-pink stain plants a kiss of see-through tint on cheeks & lips. With hours of smudge-proof, just-picked perfection, you’ll be the prettiest bloom in the bunch!

Tips and tricks: Brush three strokes on the apple of your cheek and blend quickly with fingertips. Do the same on your other cheek. Dot on lips & blend with fingertip. For a deeper “pop” of color, repeat.

The Posietint is of the same size as the Benetint. Its texture is creamy, compared to the watery Benetint. I was a bit apprehensive when I tried it out, looking at the bright bubblegum-pink liquid. I didn’t want to end up looking like a doll (the not-in-a-good-way kind, y’know what I mean?). However, when I applied it on my cheeks, it gave me the prettiest pink flush I’ve ever seen on myself!

As a cheek stain, I absolutely love it. I don’t normally wear pink blushes, but this one gave me a very natural and pretty flush on the cheeks. I’d normally layer the Posietint on my cheeks at least twice to achieve a natural blushed look. It didn’t work for me as a lip stain though. The colour hardly showed on my lips. I’d be sticking to the Benetint for that one.

Given that it is a lip and cheek stain, it dries very quickly, so it would be best to quickly blend the liquid onto the skin after application.

Posietint Instruction Sheet

An instruction sheet was included with the bottle of Posietint. It suggested that you brush three strokes on the apple of your cheek and then blend quickly with the fingertips. I do not recommend this. As the liquid dries pretty quickly, by the time you brush the cheek stain onto your face and close the bottle, the first stroke would have dried a little, and you’d be left with a hint of three brush strokes on the face (yeah, I made that mistake. Looked like pink war paint on my face. Eeek). Plus for fair-skinned ladies, it might be too pink for you.

I’d suggest that you brush a stroke onto your index finger, and blend onto the cheeks. Layer if you want it a little more pink on the cheeks. This will give you better control on the colour, plus it would blend better.

If you’re not sure if the Posietint would work for you, let’s put it this way. If you can wear the Dandelion, or any sort of pink blush, you can definitely wear the Posietint.

The Posietint does not have the strong rose scent that the Benetint has but there is a hint of fragrance nevertheless. It’s not strong, which is good.

Benefit Posietint is currently not available in Australia nor Malaysia yet. I reckon it would cost the same as the Benetint (it’s the same in the US). I bought this on the Benefit website for USD28. Again, it’s highly recommended to buy your Benefit products on the website, because even after factoring in the shipping costs, it would still be cheaper than getting it in Australia or Malaysia.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m a-gonna go prettify myself with the pink stain 😛

What I like about it: Lovely natural pink flush on my cheeks. Easy to blend. Oh, and how cute is the bottle? 😉

What I did not like about it: It didn’t work for me as a lip stain.

Benefit Haul

My apologies for the lack of proper posts for the past week. I’ve been having a bit of a blog crisis, which will hopefully be resolved soon. Nothing better to make my day yesterday than getting this in the mail.

Benefit Haul Box

My latest haul from Benefit is here!

Benefit Haul

I ordered the latest craze from Benefit – the Posietint. I also bought two lippies – The Gloss in Rave Reviews and Her Glossiness in Talk to my Agent. The two lip gloss were highly recommended by Viva Woman, so I figured I’d give them a go. The other two items were free samples from Benefit. That’s what I love about buying my Benefit items online; you always get free samples from them, even though you only ordered one item.

Benefit Posietint

Oh, and the Posietint. I love it! The flush it gives on my cheeks is so much prettier than the one by Benetint.

I’ll give the Posietint a proper review after using it for a week or so. But it definitely gave me a great first impression.

Perfume Lust

I’ve been lusting after Marc Jacobs’ Daisy ever since I set nose on it at Myer a few weeks ago. Yet at AUD80 for 50ml and AUD110 for 100ml, I can’t seem to part with my cash for the perfume. The husband suggested that I go to Myer every week and spray myself with the tester perfume just to satisfy myself, or to sneak in an atomiser to *ahem* sneak *ahem* some back home. That man. Tsk tsk.

Marc Jacobs Daisy

So what I’ve been doing is spraying the perfume onto those perfume cards and storing the scented cards in my purse, just to satisfy that itch. Tell me if that’s not sad, because it is.

And if that’s not bad enough, I was simply checking out the perfumes on sale at David Jones yesterday, and since I was at the Estee Lauder counter, I thought I’d try out Estee Lauder’s Pure White Linen Light Breeze.

Big. Mistake.

Estee Lauder Pure White Linen Light Breeze

It smells absolutely heavenly. It’s AUD95 for 50ml and AUD135 for 100ml. I want this. Real bad.
What is it with all this sudden lust for perfumes?! ARGH!
