I’ve lusted after this fragrance by Acqua di Parma for ages. Every time I’m at David Jones, I’d spray some onto a card and keep the card in my bag. And by spray, I mean it was an enough-to-kill-a-hundred-mosquitoes-with-Raid sort of spray. Suffice it to say, my bag smelled amazing for days.
A couple of weeks ago, I decided to finally bite the bullet and get it. Even though I’ve technically been spraying quite a lot of it on cards and myself over the years, there was absolutely no regrets.
If I had a dollar every time I stumbled upon yet another beauty YouTuber or blogger raving about this, I’d have enough to buy myself a pretty nice bag. While I didn’t get myself that bag, I did get a jar of this to try out to see what the fuss was about.
I’ve been meaning to get the Emma Hardie cleansing balm for almost a year now but I didn’t get around to it because its retail price was AU$72 which is a whopper for a cleanser. Luckily, Feel Unique had a sale going on for Emma Hardie cleansing balms a couple of months ago and I managed to score mine at 50% off.

Let me guess that if you were to see the words “lasts 24 hours” on a beauty product, especially makeup, you’d be rolling your eyes so hard, I’ll need to smack the back of your head with a clipboard to get your eyes right-side up again.
Okay, maybe not in such a violent way, but you know what I mean. 😛
When the new L’Oreal Infallible 24H liquid and powder foundations landed on my desk for review, I won’t deny that there was quite a lot of eye-rolling at the “24 hour hold, 24 hour comfort” claim. Seriously, who actually wears foundation for that long? Unless you fell asleep with your makeup on and expect it to still look like new when you wake up, you’ll be calling B.S. on the claims.
Still, when I see a claim like that, you know that I’d want to bust those claims. Juvenile? Maybe. But surely you would want to do it too!
While I’m obviously highly sceptical about 24 hour hold claim, I discovered something quite surprising about the foundations. I actually like them! Twenty four hour hold hogwash aside, these are pretty darn good makeup.
