Read My Lips: YSL Rouge Pur Couture #52

YSL Rouge Pur Couture 52

Do you know that up until a couple of months ago, I’ve never watched a single Korean TV drama? Even though my parents are huge fans of Korean drama, I was never interested in any of them, not a single bit. Mum and Dad tried to convince me to watch a few shows they thought were really good but I thought, nope, not doing it, not interested.

That was until 2 months ago when after giving in to peer pressure (tsk tsk, really, at my age, I’m still succumbing to peer pressure. What nonsense is this?!), I watched the highly popular Korean drama, My Love From The Star (also known as He/You Who Came From The Stars).

Oh. My. Gawd.

There was so much laughter yet so much tears. Heart was melted. Gut was wrenched. Tears were cried by the buckets. I couldn’t listen to any of the songs in the soundtrack without tearing up. That was how affected I was by the show.

And I absolutely loved it!

Clickity, Twisty Highlighting Concealer Pens. Estee Lauder vs By Terry. Which One’s Better?

Hands up, who’s tried the very popular cult product YSL Touche Elcat? Another show of hands, who amongst you found said popular product didn’t work for you as well as you’d expect?

*hand shoots right up*

For the past 6 years, I’ve been trying out the real thing and plenty of similar highlighting pen thingamjigs, and while the Touche Eclat is actually not that bad, it’s a bit lacking for me. Lacking in what, you ask? Funny thing is, I don’t really know! I expected more coverage, smoothness and oomph, I suppose. To me, it was only just … meh.

Estee Lauder's Double Wear Brush-On Glow BB Highlighter and By Terry Touch Expert Advanced Ultra-Radiance Active Concealer

What I couldn’t get in the Touche Eclat, I happily got in the By Terry Touch Expert Advanced Ultra-Radiance Active Concealer, whose creator was actually the same creator for the YSL Touche Eclat! It’s a more refined and vastly improved version of the Touche Eclat and I love it. But this isn’t just a review on the By Terry Touch Expert Advanced.

Come on Tine, what are you going on about?

See, a couple of months ago, I got to try out Estee Lauder’s Double Wear Brush On Glow BB Highlighter and whaddyaknow, I like it just as much as the one by By Terry!

Makeup Geek Eyeshadows: Worthier Than MAC?

Makeup Geek Eyeshadows

I’ve been following Makeup Geek for goodness knows how long now. Many, many years I reckon. I strongly admire Marlena and how she made her beauty blog Makeup Geek to a booming cosmetics empire today. Gives wee bloggers like me hope, you know? 🙂

Anyway, I’ve been wanting to try out her eyeshadows for a long time now but never got around to deciding which ones I wanted until about a few months ago. Her eyeshadows are apparently comparable to those of MAC’s and while I’m just so-so on MAC eyeshadows, I was still keen to try the Makeup Geek ones out. After deciding what I wanted, I placed an order for 9 single eyeshadows.

Bloggie Wednesday: How I Increased My Productivity Tenfold

How I Increased My Productivity Tenfold

I was reading Rebecca’s (from the blog From Roses – one of my favourite blogs to read) blog post yesterday on the highs and lows of working from home and I agreed with every single point, especially the part where people seem to think we have nothing to do all day. Ahh … I have so much to say about that but let’s leave that rant for another day, shall we? Suffice to say, even though I’m not physically in a separate office with people, it doesn’t mean I’m twiddling my thumbs all day. In fact, many a time, I don’t have enough hours of the day!

Anyway, that’s another kettle of fish. Working from home, learning to manage one’s time and schedule is imperative. Trust me, it can be really easy to sleep in, play with the dog, take long breakfasts, go on social media, reply a few emails and bam! It’s already 5pm. I have to create a schedule for myself daily and weekly so I don’t fall into the easy rut of procrastination (which I easily do).

For the years that I’ve been working from home, I finally came up with a system that worked for me only just a few months ago. Was all that previous time wasted? Not really but my time could have been better managed to boost productivity. This time, I’ve got it down to a T and I’m really loving it.
