Bare Minerals Ready Blush in The Natural High: Quite The Dupe To That Famous Blush We Know

Bare Minerals Ready Blush in The Natural High

Can I still call myself a beauty blogger if I tell you that this blush would be the very first Bare Minerals product I’ve ever used? I know! Where have I been? 😛

When I jumped on the mineral makeup bandwagon many years ago, I found cheaper alternatives to Bare Minerals so there was no need for me to even try anything from the brand.

Bare Minerals Ready Blush in The Natural High

The funny thing is, for the longest time, I thought Bare Minerals only sold mineral foundation. I didn’t know they also have a wide range of makeup and I certainly didn’t know they had blushes as well.

Hello, I’m Tine and I just came out from living under a rock.

Happy 7th Birthday to Beautyholics Anonymous (Plus A Giveaway!)

THE GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING!

Happy 7th Birthday to Beautyholics Anonymous (Plus A Giveaway!)

I hope you’ve enjoyed the series of giveaways I’ve been doing in May so far. The response has been really good and it’s fun reading all of your entries. We’ve come to the final blog birthday giveaway and I’ve saved the best for last.

Before I get to the giveaway, I’d just like to say how much I appreciate each and everyone of you who took the time to read my blog. In fact, I don’t think I even have the words to describe how much all of you mean to me. A blog doesn’t grow without its readers and you have helped it (and me) grow so much over the years. Seven years. Lucky seven! Who knew it would last this long, eh?

I wish I can do an Oprah and say to all of you “You get a car! And you get a car! And YOU get a car!” but sadly I can’t (also mainly because even yours truly does not have a car 😛 ). Who knows, maybe one day, eh? 😉

This is just a small way of my showing my appreciation to you. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart.

Oh dear, I’m getting a bit teary here. Right, let’s move on to happier things and that’s the giveaway! *drumroll*.

The Skincare Company Exfoliant Serum: An Instant Holy Grail

Note: This is a sponsored post.

Just before I get to the review, I have to admit that this sponsored article was exceedingly difficult to write. Sponsored reviews consume a lot of brain juice because the review still has to be honest even though it’s a paid one. There’s a fine line between raving about it because you really like it or raving about it because you’re compensated to do so. This is the first time I’ve ever done a sponsored review and it should have been published weeks ago. The reason I mulled over it for so long was because I had difficulty bringing the message across to you without making it so damn glowing just because I was compensated for it.

Y’see, I was hoping to find something I won’t like about this product just so it doesn’t seem so damn positive. Then again, if I didn’t like the product and said I did, I’d be lying and you’d so call me out on it. This is my dilemma: I love this product. I really didn’t expect to like it that much. But if it’s such a glowing review, then you’d call me out on it because hello, I was paid for it.

Know what I mean? Can I just say please take my word for it, it’s really good and you must try it out? Geez, Tine. Presumptuous much? But really, even if I wasn’t compensated for this, I’d still sing praises about it because it’s just that good.

After rambling on for 3 paragraphs, we really should get to the review, shouldn’t we?

The Skincare Company Exfoliant Serum

The first time I heard of The Skincare Company was at the beginning of the year when the PR for the brand contacted me and asked me if I’d like to try out their products. There was a lot of going back and forth about getting more information about the brand and the products. The Skincare Company reminded me of one of my favourite no-nonsense skincare brands, Cosmetic Skin Solutions. They were all about effective active ingredients without the fluff. They’re not as affordable as Cosmetic Skin Solutions but for what they do offer, they’re definitely cheaper than mainstream beauty brands like Estée Lauder, Clinique, Clarins, etc.

I was kindly sent a few of their skincare products to try and the first one I checked out was the Exfoliant Serum.

Bloggie Wednesday: 10 Lessons I’ve Learned In My 7 Years Of Blogging

Bloggie Wednesday: 10 Lessons I've Learned In My 7 Years Of Blogging

© Yury Zap

Whaddyaknow, this year (and this month in fact, hence all the giveaways I’ve been running in May) Beautyholics Anonymous celebrates her 7th anniversary. I didn’t think the blog would stay on for so long and go this far. In fact, I was more than ready to give it up in 2010 when I had completely run out of blogging juice (I blog almost daily now but back then, it was something like 3 posts a month). Who knew that I would continue on for the next 4 years? Who knew I’d actually turn it into my full-time job? Who knew I’d be meeting so many people I never thought I’d even get the chance to?

I certainly didn’t. And what an adventure it has been.

Seven years may seem like a long time but I’ve met bloggers who have been doing it for well over 10 years and they’re still loving every minute of it. For all its ups and downs, blogging has brought me more friends and opportunities that I never thought I’d get. It got me out of my rut when I first moved to Australia 6 years ago. It made me lifelong friends that I wouldn’t give up for the world. It gave me wonderful experiences that I would carry with me for the rest of my life.

I’ve learned a lot going about this blogging journey and I thought I’d share 10 lessons I’ve learned about blogging with you. Some I had to learn the hard way, the others were thankfully better.
