Quickie Mention: Palmer’s Ultra Moisturising Lip Balm in Dark Chocolate and Cherry

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Moisturising Lip Balm in Dark Chocolate and Cherry

I have a confession to make: I’m addicted to dark chocolate but I hate cherries. Okay, maybe hate is too strong a word. Let’s call it strongly dislike. I just don’t like the taste and always pick them out in cakes or whatever has them.

When the Palmer’s Ultra Moisturising Lip Balm landed on my desk for review, I wasn’t sure to use it or just give it away because it contains my pet love and pet dislike (is there such a word?). One day, I was rushing to go out, needed a lip balm and in my haste, I grabbed this and shoved it in my bag. I decided to bite the bullet, rip the packaging apart and try it out. It turns out to be a lot better than I expected and I ended up really liking it.

Bloggie Wednesday: Get Your Web Stats on. Stat!

Bloggie Wednesday: Get Your Web Stats on. Stat!

I’ve received a number of emails about web analytics, Google Analytics, Statcounter and so on and some of the common questions are: is it necessary to use Google Analytics to monitor blog statistics? When should we start implementing the analytics on the blog? Can I use another platform instead of Google Analytics?

I thought I’d answer some of those questions on today’s Bloggie Wednesday. Let’s get on it, stat!

So, is it necessary to use Google Analytics? Can I use another platform instead of Google Analytics? The answer is yes. However, I do find Google Analytics the best to use because of its accuracy, its popularity, its availability and most importantly, its affordability. It’s the most popular web analytical tool on the Internet; as such, it’s what brands measure traffic with too. If you intend to work with brands, then the best tool to use is Google Analytics because it’s a trusted source.

My main reason for using Google Analytics, on top of all that I’ve mentioned above, is that it’s free to use. It doesn’t matter how small or large your traffic is; that doggone tool will measure if you have 100 views a month or a million views a month. This goes very well with the next question on web analytical tools: when should we start implementing analytics on the blog?

My Haircare Routine

My Haircare Routine

There’s no beating about the bush about this; I’m lazy as arse when it comes to my hair. I’ll spend a lot of time on my skin. Facials, skincare products, etc, I like to give my skin as much love as I can. But when it comes to my hair … eh, not so much.

I have no idea why. My hair isn’t in tip-top condition (not even close) yet I’m such a cheapie on it. I’m very fortunate to be able to trial salon brand and non-drugstore haircare products because they aren’t what I’d usually spend money on. It’s not that they’re not good, heck I’ve stumbled upon so many high quality haircare items. It’s just that drugstore brands like Pantene or Sunsilk already do wonders to my hair so it wasn’t necessary for me to purchase higher-end haircare products.

Face of Australia, You Glamazon Minx You!

Face of Australia Glamazon Blush and Highlight Kit Minx

When I first saw the new Face of Australia Glamazon face palettes, the first thing in my mind was “OMG I want!“. To some (or even many), the packaging may be tacks-ville with the animal print but if you know me in person, then you’ll know that I absolutely adore animal print. So tacks-ville and tack-city, here I come!

Face of Australia Glamazon Blush and Highlight Kit Minx

The folks at Face of Australia must have gotten my “I want” silent (but quite deadly) command because just when I was about to buy this for myself, they sent me a couple of their palettes to try out. Woohoo! Seriously, I should aim these silent mind reading commands more often. Tom Ford, I’m looking at you. Ohmmmm….
