Bloggie Wednesdays: Turning Down Blogging “Opportunities”

Bloggie Wednesdays: Turning Down Blogging "Opportunities"

As bloggers, how often do you receive emails like this?

Dear Tine,

I love your blog. I’ve been reading it for a while now and I think it’s great. I thought I’d reach out to you about a partnership between Beautyholics Anonymous and Brand X.

Brand X is [insert sentences about how awesome it is and what it does].

All you need to do is to write about Brand X with 2-3 anchor links in the post. It doesn’t have to be very long, just 500 words or so would do with some images here and there. We would also require you to promote the post on your blog and all of your social media platforms, e.g. Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. In return, we’re happy to offer you $30 for your time. We will also promote your post on our social media network which will drive traffic to your blog.

Please let us know if you have any questions. Excited to work with you!

Kind regards,
Representative of Brand X

Now you know why I added quotes to “opportunities” because really, what sort of opportunity are you really getting here?

David Babaii Miracle Elixir Nourishing Spray: Bye Bye Ugly Fried Grass Hair!

Okay, I know that I’ve been babbling a lot about my holiday which was over a month ago but as I’ve been using a few new products during the trip, I thought post-holiday would be a good time to let you know what I thought of them. This is the last “new” item I used on holiday so I promise (*fingers crossed behind my back*) that this will be the last time I talk about the holiday. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Whenever I travel, I find my usual shampoos and conditioners a hassle to bring with me. So, I bring whatever samples sachets I have in my stash with me to use just so I can chuck ’em when I’m done. I use all sorts and sometimes, they aren’t even really meant for my hair (e.g. shampoo for fine hair when I have thick and coarse hair) so after a while, it does get very dry and look like fried grass. This time, I thought I’d bring a proper full-sized leave-in hair conditioner to make sure my hair gets as much hydration as possible. I decided to pack a bottle of the David Babaii Miracle Elixir Nourishing Spray. I’m glad I was given an opportunity to try this out because I’ve never heard of David Babaii hair products. Or who David Babaii even is. ๐Ÿ˜›

So, How Was Your Weekend?

Happy Monday, folks!

Instead of starting the week with a product review, I thought I’d share what my weekend was like with you. I’m rather tired of writing reviews today so let’s talk about something else for a change, eh?

How was your weekend? If you follow me on Twitter, you’ll know that my last 4 days have been pretty darn awesome. Remember last week when I told you I was having a guest over for a few days? Lo and behold, it was Paris B!

Paris B in Melbourne Mid November 2013

Clockwise: Selfies at South Yarra station, the 3 bag ladies, yummy pasta at Chadstone’s Bouchee, doing what bloggers do (image courtesy of LeGeeque), delicious lamb sandwich at Dukes Coffee, my friend’s lovely daughter.

There had been heaps of eating, a bit of shopping (I may have gone a little overboard with candles) and catching with good friends. When you get 2 bloggers staying under the same roof for a few days, there’s bound to be a lot of bloggie and makeup discussions. We even came up with topics to blog about! “Ooooh we should blog about this!” and “OMG that’s exactly how I feel! Let’s blog about it!“. Oh yeah, bloggie talk. It happens. ๐Ÿ˜›

What Would You Do #5: Blue Blue, Your Eyeshadow is Blue

What Would You Do?

Man, I haven’t done a What Would You Do post in ages! Five months to be exact. I was supposed to write one once a month. Ooops. ๐Ÿ˜›

Okay, today’s scenario is something I experienced years ago and I’d like to know what you’d do if it happened to you. By the way, if you’re new to What Would You Do, it’s a series of posts where I come up with scenarios for you to think about and find out what it is that you would you if you were placed in that situation.

For today, I’d like you to think blue. By that, I’d like you to picture bright blue eyeshadow. Ready? Go!
