Bloggie Wednesdays: Beating That Post-Holiday Blogging Blues

Bloggie Wednesdays: Beating That Post-Holiday Blogging Blues

Happy hump day, fellow beautyholics!

It’s been 8 weeks since my last Bloggie Wednesday post! Woah, I don’t think I’ve ever had such a long break from writing about blogging. Ahh it’s no wonder I miss it. ๐Ÿ™‚

Today, instead of talking techie things, I thought I’d share some of my post-holiday blogging blues with you and how I had to nip that in the bud.

When I was younger, if I were to miss more than 2 Sundays of church services, I find it very difficult to return. I think it’s the combination of having to wake up very early and the feeling of “I wonder if anyone missed me” that made me very reluctant to go back. My mum had to kick my behind to make sure I get off my lazy bum and get ready to go to church.

The funny thing is, I can say the same for blogging.

BB Creamology: Maybelline, Thalgo and Bobbi Brown

Happy Tuesday and welcome to the 9th installment of BB Creamology! It’s been months since my last episode and well, it’s about time I revive it, don’t you think? ๐Ÿ™‚

Today, I’m featuring 3 Western BB creams on BB Creamology and they’re from Maybelline, Thalgo and Bobbi Brown. I actually haven’t been using Asian BB creams in a while. Even when I was in Malaysia for my holiday, I didn’t stumble upon any that piqued my interest. Ooh does that mean the BB craze is finally ebbing away? Oh dear, does that mean we’re giving in to the next generation ones that are CC and DD? Oh boy. ๐Ÿ˜›

Right, let’s not get carried away with the rest of the alphabet and go back to the subject at hand. One drugstore, one spa and one mid-range: which one would rise above the rest?

LUSH Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner and Dream Cream: An Eye-Opening Experience When I Previously Wouldn’t Even Step Into The Store

Do you know that to date, I’ve only stepped into a LUSH store twice? It’s not that I have anything against the beauty products; how can I when I barely even know what they have? Non-LUSH fans may agree with me here but that strong scent that wafts out of the store every time you walk past it … it’s almost unbearable. Like walking past a fragrance or candle shop, you almost have to hold your breath to walk in, get what you want and get the hell out.

Now don’t get me wrong. The smell isn’t bad. It’s not like rotting rubbish or the toilet after you’ve done a number 2. If you separate each product and scent out, they’re actually pretty good. But most LUSH stores I’ve walked past are usually quite small and when you have so many heavily scented products in one tiny, contained area, your senses are bound to be hit, and hit hard.

So why am I even reviewing LUSH products today? Well, a few weeks ago I was kindly sent some LUSH products to try out. I’ll be very honest with you; my first reaction was: “Aww man, do I have to?“. Terrible, I know. Sounds absolutely ungrateful, even. When I was unpacking my mountain of mail, I opened the LUSH box and suddenly, I was intrigued. So many people love LUSH products. There must be something about them that must be that good for them to get past that strong smell of a shop to walk in and peruse the products. Hell, I wanted to try them out too. So I took out two bodycare products from the box, gingerly unscrewed the tops and give them a whiff. And you know what? They actually smell pretty damn good! That evening I started to use them and now, oh boy, am I hooked or what?

LUSH Ro's Argan Body Conditioner and Dream Cream

The body care products I tried out are two of LUSH’s bestselling ones and they’re Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner and Dream Cream Hand and Body Lotion.

#tinetravels: I Shopped For You Too (It’s A Giveaway!)

THE GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED. THANK YOU FOR PARTICIPATING!

I have to say this again: French pharmacies are AMAZING. They’re not big pharmacies and drugstores like Priceline or Watsons; they really are quite tiny shops that sell medication and a bit of beauty products here and there. The amazing thing about them is how cheap most French skincare products are, especially if you buy them in bulk. You can get two massive bottles of Uriage cleansers for under 12 euros per pack. Some pharmacies even sell a 12-pack NUXE dry oil for about 6 euros each!

I thought I’d bring back some of that French pharmacy vibe for you. No, I don’t have 12 bottles of NUXE dry oil to give away (but you know, if I could bring them back, I would), but perhaps a small pack of goodies might suffice? ๐Ÿ™‚

One reader will be able to win the pack below:
