An All Seasons Blush That is BYS’ Blush Trio in Endless Summer

BYS Blush Trio in Endless Summer

As a nutty blush fiend, I have lots of blush enablers. These are the people who help my blush collection grow (if only they’d finance the collection too :P). My most recent blush enabler is Emma, who, like me, is also crazy about blush. When I first saw the new Blush Trios by BYS on her blog, only two words came to mind. MUST. HAVE.

BYS is a very affordable brand when it comes to makeup. They have all sorts of colours and for those who would like to venture into trying out more colours but don’t want to spend a lot of money, BYS would be one to check out. Still, to be perfectly honest, a lot of their makeup are a bit of a hit-and-miss for me. Some are good, some not so much.

The blush trio I’m showing you today is in Endless Summer. So, was this a hit or a miss for me? Read on to find out! 🙂

Bloggie Wednesday: Reader Engagement (How To Get People Talking)

Bloggie Wednesday: Reader Engagement (How To Get People Talking)

Following last week’s Bloggie Wednesday topic on how to get more readers for your blog, I received great feedback from readers/bloggers who also found it difficult to get more readers for their blog. A reader, Veronica, posed a good question in the comments and I thought I’d continue the topic for today.

Can I make a request pretty please? How about how to engage and get people to comment on your blog? I know I get readers, but no-one wants to comment. I realise I am new to blogging, and most likely my posts or content aren’t exactly inviting people to post. But it would still be good to hear from an experienced blogger on how you overcame this hurdle (if it was one).

Now that I’ve gotten readers to my blog, how on earth do I get them to comment? How to I get them talking? Why is no one talking??

See, I’m naturally a talkative person. I like to talk (first day at school and I was already told off by the teacher for talking too much!) and even on the blog, I like interacting with people via the comments. But I can’t be talking to myself if no one wants to talk to me, right? No? Right, that’s why I have a blog, so that I can talk to myself! 😛

Okay, serious business here. I understand Veronica’s frustrations and trust me, I feel it too often. It’s mighty disheartening when I spend a lot of time researching and writing something I thought would be a fantastic piece people would really enjoy, only to find that I received all but 2 comments on the post. I can’t help but doubt myself and wonder if it’s just me. Most of the time, yes it’s just me.

It’s still a learning process for me and I’m still trying to get more people to comment but I’ve learned a few things along the way and thought I might share them with you.

Winter Skincare: Caring For Your Skin With It’s Oh So Cold (Featuring Clarins, Hydraluron and NUXE)

Winter Skincare: Caring For Your Skin With It's Oh So Cold (Featuring Clarins, Hydraluron and NUXE)

It’s winter now Down Under and while it’s not terribly cold in Melbourne Metro just yet, we’re beginning to experience more biting winds and chilly nights. This calls for thick coats, hats and gloves during the day and flannel PJs, hot water bottles and fluffy socks at home.

My skin in winter can be quite difficult in winter. Even though I have combination skin, my skin gets really dehydrated when the temperature drops. I’ll still have an oily T-zone but the other areas of my face will be dry and a lot less boing boing. Heck, I’d be lucky if I can even get one boing!

Winter Skincare: Caring For Your Skin With It's Oh So Cold (Featuring Clarins, Hydraluron and NUXE)

For this, I have to have additional winter skincare to add to my current regime. Most of them are what I call hydration boosters that help maintain skin hydration but not too heavy as not to disturb my oily T-zone. A couple of items are fairly new but have jumped up several notches and securing their spots as my winter skincare arsenal.

Beautyholics Anonymous + L’Oreal = A Wonderfully Wild Ombré Evening

Beautyholics Anonymous + L'Oreal = A Wonderfully Wild Ombré Evening

Tuesday, 2 July 2013 will always be remembered as the day I held my very first beauty event, and with L’Oreal too! I’m still high from the event and it’s no wonder why. Oh what an evening it was of fun, colour and great company!

I was a nervous wreck in the afternoon when I headed down to the L’Oreal head office at St Kilda. For the first time too, Tim came to the event with me. He called himself “the furniture cum videographer“. Awww. 😛

The theme of the evening was leopard print. It was like they read my mind and knew how much I love leopard print even though we didn’t discuss a theme for the event. We held the event at the top floor of the building which was fantastic because it had a stunning view of the city. I even managed to catch the sunset before the event began. Beautiful, simply beautiful.
