Quickie Mention: Beauty Swatch’s Pout Perfect

Beauty Swatch's Pout Perfect

I remembered the first time I met Yishan from Beauty Swatch. It was about 3 years ago and after following each other’s blogs that we decided it’s time we finally meet in person. Before Beauty Swatch, she used to blog on Akisa Love (now defunct). Her blog header had a picture of a very hot lady and I actually thought THAT was her! It was only after we finally met that she told me that that lady on her blog header was actually a Korean actress. Ooops! Oh well, Yishan’s one hot lady too. 🙂

When her ebook, Pout Perfect, was launched, I’m happy to say that I was one of her first customers. I’m always happy to support a fellow blogger (writing ebooks are not easy!) when I can, especially one I’ve known even before Beauty Swatch began. Having said that, I don’t rave about something willy nilly; it’s got to be good too. Here’s the thing. If you love lipsticks, you’ll enjoy Pout Perfect.

When the Estee Lauder Pure Color Cello Shots Cheek Rush were launched, oh boy was I excited. Hello, more blushes for me to check out? Gel ones too? HELL YES. So when these actually landed on my desk for review, I did a little victory dance and a bit of a whoop whoop.

What can I say? Blushes have a strange effect on me. 😛

Bloggie Wednesdays: How Do You Get More Readers For Your Blog?

Bloggie Wednesdays: How Do You Get More Readers For Your Blog?

This is a question I get very often either on Bloggie Wednesdays or via email. I thought instead of just answering them in comments and emails, I could write a post on it as well. Just how do you get more readers to your blog, especially if you’re starting from scratch?

When I first started beauty blogging, I knew I had at least one reader and that was Paris B. She was the one who encouraged me to give beauty blogging a go. At that time, I didn’t think much about having a lot of readers. I just wanted to write about beauty-related topics that I know of. I didn’t have to worry about working with brands or anything like that because at that time in Malaysia, it just wasn’t done. I was happy with my handful of readers; it was like writing to a group of friends you’ve never met.

Of course, it came to a point when I wanted to reach out to more people. I’d love to have more readers to my blog. I still do; heck, who doesn’t? If I’ve been blogging for 6 months and I only have 10 readers, I wouldn’t help but feel a tad disheartened.

There are many methods on how to get my readers to your blog. These are some of my tested ones that worked for me. Perhaps they’ll work for you too. 🙂
