LMFF 2013: L’Oreal Paris Runway 07 + The Looks + The Giveaway

The Look
This is such a pretty and girly look. Lots of eye whiteliner and pale eyeshadow are concentrated on the inner corners of the eyes. From the face chart, you’ll notice that the lipstick isn’t applied on the model’s entire upper and lower lips. It was applied just before the lower lipline. This is to create a plumper, youthful and more luscious lips. Even though the model has blonde hair, her eyebrows are drawn quite dark as to contrast from the white makeup on the eyes. This is a very playful and sexy look. I love it!

Runway to “Realway” option: Easily done! If you’re wary about applying so much eyeliner and light-coloured eyeshadow at the inner corners of the eyes, you can always tone it down.
If you have close-set eyes, the white eyeliner at the inner corners of your eyes will brighten the eyes further. If you have wide-set eyes and still want to try this look out, keep the white eyeliner very thin, or try using it on the outer corners of your eyes instead. Keep the lips looking mighty inviting with an intense shade of fuschia. Sweet!

LMFF 2013 Day 6: Talking About Lipsticks And Wedding Gowns

Note: This is a very picture-heavy post

Marie Claire & L'Oreal Paris Beauty Workshop

Day 6 was such an exciting one for me. It started off with lunch with some of my Melbourne beauty blogger mates (Norlin, Emma, Emily and Ling) for a quick catch-up before we headed to the Marie Claire & L’Oreal Paris Beauty Workshop at Maia, which was conducted by Rae Morris. I’ve been looking forward to this event all week. Having backstage access for a few days and trying to pick Rae’s brains on makeup tips in a confined space, it was very refreshing to be able to just sit back, relax and take all her beauty pearls of wisdom in.

Marie Claire & L'Oreal Paris Beauty Workshop

It was a good hour of learning more about makeup from the master. It’s not a beginner’s class in makeup. The point of the class is that you already do wear makeup but want to pick up more tips and tricks e.g. choosing the right concealer for your skin colour, the best areas of your cheeks to apply blush and contour, how to fill in your brows to have the best impact, etc.

LMFF 2013: L’Oreal Paris Runway 06 + The Looks + The Giveaway

The Look

This is such a strong look, but it’s mainly due to the striking red hair. As the flaming red is such a vibrant shade, that’s the focus of the entire look. This means that the makeup has to be kept simple as not to take away from that gorgeous red. Still, simple doesn’t mean boring. As you can see from the face chart, instead of lining the eyes with a dark eyeshadow, it’s instead added to the sockets of the eyes, keeping the eyelids light. This creates real depth and dimension to the eyes. Especially love how the eyes are made to look brighter by applying the white eyeliner at the lower lash line and gold at the inner corners of the eyes.

Brows are kept natural for this look (no dyeing it red, thank heavens). Lips are also kept nude with some contouring to the cheeks.

Runway to “Realway” option: Easily done! This is a very work-friendly look as the makeup is kept quite neutral. You can’t really go wrong with these shades. If you’re thinking of dyeing your hair flaming red, just be careful of your pristine white sheets. Other than that, go for it! I think it’s hot. 😛

LMFF 2013 Day 5: The One Where I Pretend I'm A Street Style Photographer

Day 5 was quite an exciting one for me. Remember when the I ran the giveaway for 2 tickets to one of the L’Oreal Paris runway shows? Well, the winner was Issy who flew to Melbourne from Sydney just to attend the show! It was good to meet her in person and we had a good chat while she and her friend Mel were queueing up for the Powder Room. Hello Issy! Hope you enjoyed the show. 🙂
