Seed Heritage Nail Polish in Emerald: Is It Emerald, Teal, Turquoise or What?

I first saw a picture of this nail polish from Seed Heritage on a blog a couple of months ago. I’ve never seen swatches of the nail polish though, but from the stock image of the bottle alone, knew I had to have it.

Seed Heritage Nail Polish in Emerald

Unfortunately, I didn’t save a picture of the mail polish and I forgot to write it down in my shopping list. It wasn’t surprising that in time, I forgot about it until about 2 weeks ago when I stepped into a Seed store that had a big SALE sign going on. I spotted this nail polish by the cashier and immediately snapped it up. It was on sale too!

Chocolate Cake In A Mug

Chocolate Cake In A Mug

Here’s a quick, non-beauty-related post. Last night I posted a picture on Instagram of my chocolate cake in a mug using a microwave oven. Some of you have been asking for the recipe, so here it is. I took the recipe off a website years ago and can’t remember where it’s from. So if this is your recipe, please let me know and I’ll gladly credit you for it!

Ingredients:
2 tbsp plain flour
2 tbsp self-raising flour
4 tbsp caster sugar
2 tbsp cocoa
1 egg
3 tbsp milk
3 tbsp oil
1 mug

Method:
1. Mix flour, sugar and cocoa in a mug.
2. Spoon in one lightly beated egg.
3. Pour in milk and oil. Mix well.
4. Put in microwave oven for 3 minutes on maximum power (1000 watts).
5. Wait until it stops rising and sets in the mug.
6. Eat cake while watching Masterchef.

Enjoy! 🙂

Bloggie Wednesdays: Giveaways & Competitions – Why Terms and Conditions Matter

Bloggie Wednesdays: Giveaways & Competitions - Why Terms and Conditions Matter

Happy hump day, folks!

If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you’ll know that I’m currently down with a bad cold. With mush for brains, today’s Bloggie Wednesdays is going to be a little different.

I had a chat with Kimmi from The Plastic Diaries a week ago on what running blog giveaways are like in Australia, what the terms and conditions are, etc. She gave me a copy of a post she wrote for Stef  quite some time ago (formerly of The Lip Print and Blogging 4 Love, which are now defunct. Stef is now blogging at Read, Cook, Shop. Go check out her lovely blog!).

Kimmi has very kindly allowed me to repost that original post here for today’s Bloggie Wednesdays. If you are blogging in Australia and do run giveaways and competitions on your blog, this is vital information you have to know. I was not aware of the regulations we have in Australia regarding giveaways and competitions. A lot of us (me included) run giveaways quite often on our blogs without knowing the rules. It’s time we do.

Over to you, Kimmi!

PS: If you have any questions on running giveaways in Australia, Kimmi would be happy to answer them. Believe you me, this lady knows her stuff 😉

A Taste of French Skincare with Uriage AquaPrécis

I think that up till about a couple of months ago, the only French skincare brand I’ve actually used is Avene (Edit: After this post was up, I just realised that Avene’s not the only French brand I’ve tried. Another good one is Guinot, which I missed). Nothing wrong with the brand, but due to limited availability of affordable French skincare brands in Australia, I wasn’t contented with just one brand. I wanted to try out more.

It’s often a misconception that Asian brands are more suited for Asians, Western brands more for Western skin, etc. In fact, I’ve heard and read rave reviews about Westerners loving Japanese skincare, Asians loving the French ones, and so on. I believe that if it works for you, it WORKS for you. Why limit yourself to just the same types of skincare, eh?

When Uriage came to town, I was excited. I’ve heard of the brand yonks ago in Malaysia. I can’t remember if it was available at Malaysian pharmacies back then or if I read it in a Malaysian beauty magazine, but I’ve definitely heard about it.

It’s finally in Australia!

A Taste of French Skincare with Uriage AquaPrécis

I’ve been using these Uriage products for almost 2 months now (the express mask for a month), and let me just say … wow.
