Wave-Like Nails With Layla Magneffect Magnetic Nail Polish

Magnetic nail polish has been around for a number of years now. I remembered seeing one by Lancome many years ago and was blown away by the effect. Well, that was until I found out how it really worked. Damn. I should just enjoy the trick, shouldn’t I, instead of finding out how the magician does it? ๐Ÿ™‚

Layla Magneffect Magnetic Nail Polish

A few weeks ago, I was kindly sent a bottle of the Layla Magneffect Magnetic nail polish in 06 Golden Nugget to play with. Don’t really know why it’s called golden nugget, because it’s a shade of dirty green, which in no way resembles a golden nugget of any kind ๐Ÿ˜›

The Holy Grail of Makeup Removers: Bioderma Crealine H20

I first heard about Bioderma’s Crealine H20 on one of Lisa Eldridge’s Youtube videos. As you know, I absolutely adore the lady and the amazing work she does. I stumbled upon her work and her videos when Kahani blogged about discovering this very talented makeup artist. She used this product called Bioderma, which looks like water in a fat mineral water bottle. Fascinating!

I’ve been on the hunt for this elusive makeup remover in Australia ever since. No luck then because it just wasn’t available in Australia. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to buy this online just yet because all of the US-based online stores that do stock this only sell them in bulk, in at least 500ml bottles. What if it doesn’t work for me? I didn’t want to commit to such a large bottle if it does not work.

Lady luck smiled upon me when I was invited to an intimate brunch by the Bioderma rep in Australia as an introduction to the brand. Finally, it’s going to be available here! I was kindly given a 250ml bottle to try out. It was as though a cloud has lifted. I finally know what the hype on this Bioderma Crealine H20 is all about. And by George, I love it.

Q&A with Jo Scahill, Founder of Lavion

I was strolling along The Rocks Weekend Market in Sydney as few weekends ago when I stumbled upon a stall that looked very familiar to me. It was Lavion!

I discovered Lavion a year ago when I was flipping through InStyle, and completely fell in love with a particular scarf, the very aptly named Melbourne scarf. I’ve been coveting the scarf since then, but didn’t know if I should splash $150 on a scarf. Time went by, but I never forgot the scarf, and once every couple of months, I’ll go back to the website and look at it.

It was kismet when I saw the Lavion stall at The Rocks market. I wasn’t even supposed to be at that market, as I originally intended to visit the Paddington market instead. But I’m so glad I didn’t, because when I finally laid eyes on the Melbourne, I knew at once that I had to get it.

I also had the pleasure of chatting with Jo, the founder of Lavion. While fondling her pretty scarves ๐Ÿ˜›

Time for some spring-cleaning! ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s not easy letting a lot of these go, but I believe they will go to a better home and be shown more love than I can give them.
