A Rich Wine Red like OPI’s Malaga Wine

OPI Malaga Wine

I stumbled upon this when I was in Malaysia. A dear friend and I went for a mani-pedi at an unknown nail salon at a relatively near shopping mall in Penang. There was a variety of OPI nail colours to choose from, and I randomly chose the Malaga Wine.

Bloggie Wednesdays: Designing Your Blog

Bloggie Wednesdays: Designing Your Blog

I love a good blog design, I really do. Often I’m sucked in to a blog purely for how pretty it looks, not so much for the content. Strange, isn’t it, when it’s supposed to be the other way round?

There are so many ways you can design a blog. You can make it look like a portfolio with lots of photographs, or a magazine for that sharp and chic twist to a professional-looking blog. You can wipe everything out and just have the content without any sidebars for a clean look.

As for me, well, I’ve been designing personal websites for over 10 years now. Mostly for myself, of course, since I don’t believe I’m good enough to actually do it for anyone else. It started in my university days, when Internet Explorer was like, the IN thing to use, and we’d be rocking Windows NT on every cream PC. I did the whole auto-music thing, and back in the day, it was awesome. Everytime someone accessed my website, Richard Clayderman would start playing Ballade pour Adeline. God I was a nerd 😛

So anyway, back to blogging and today’s topic, which is designing your blog. There are so many ways to go about it. You don’t even have to design them from scratch these days. There are heaps of free themes for you to download and use for your blog. After looking at thousands (I kid you not) of websites and blogs for the past 10+ years, there’s a thing or two I’ve learned about designing themes for blogs and websites.

The Face Shop FaceIt Aqua Tinted BB Cream

Confession: I’ve never really been a fan of The Face Shop. Their products are, no doubt, packaged quite prettily, and the facial sheet masks are affordable (well, at least in Malaysia they are. Bloody overpriced in Australia, I tell ya) and very popular. Unfortunately, I don’t like their facial sheet masks either as I find them heavily soaked in alcohol. As for the rest, they are okay, I suppose.

My mum, however, is a fan of giving gifts from The Face Shop (positive-ish points above), so whenever I’m back in Malaysia, our shopping escapades almost always began with a trip to a The Face Shop store. During my last trip, I lazily scanned the shelves for something to buy for the blog (Ahem! :P), and I laid eyes on their new BB creams. After testing a few, I left the shop with the FaceIt Aqua Tinted BB cream.

Smelling of Summer with Jan Marini’s Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant SPF15

Sometime last year, when I was given a complimentary Clear+Brilliant laser treatment at the ERASE Clinic at Malvern, the good people of the clinic also sent me home with a couple of Jan Marini products from the salon. Jan Marini is a popular salon skincare brand in the US, and ERASE is one of the few salons in Australia that stock the skincare line.

Today I’m going to review a sunscreen that was kindly given to me after the treatment, and that’s the Antioxidant Daily Face Protectant SPF15.
