I Experienced The Clear+Brilliant Laser Treatment And It Was Good

I don’t think my skin’s looked any better than before now that I’m in my 30s. My 20s skin was breaking out every single month, with painful, enormous pimples sprouting on my nose and forehead during that time of the month, every month. Now that I’m in my 30s, it’s like my skin has finally calmed down. Settled down, even. Facials weren’t necessary anymore, other than to relax and be pampered.

Geez, I hope I didn’t jinx it by starting off with that paragraph. Gulp.

Still, being an Asian who’s obsessed with having fair and radiant skin, I’m ready to try anything that would give me that healthy, radiant glow on the skin. For that, I started venturing into treatments.

A month ago, I had the opportunity to try out the Clear+Brilliant laser treatment, courtesy of Erase Aesthetic Services Clinic in Malvern. It’s a relatively new laser aesthetic treatment from Solta Medical, the makers of Thermage and Fraxel. It targets younger consumers who are searching for treatments to defy the signs of aging.

It utilises a safe and unique technology that corrects skin tone and promotes radiant, healthy, younger looking skin. I would say that it lies somewhere in between over-the-counter medication and more aggresive laser treatments like Fraxel.

Bloggie Wednesdays Q&A: PR Reachouts, Reader Comments and Sorting Out Giveaways

Bloggie Wednesdays

Harshleen asked:
I want to know if it’s helpful to contact the PR people of your favourite brands letting them know about your blog and asking to be included in their mailing list?

When I first started beauty blogging a few years ago, I was fortunate to have PRs contact me. I did not reach out to any PR folk until about a few months ago. That was actually a stupid move on my part. At a not-so-recent luncheon with the people from Estee Lauder, the PRs had no idea who I was even though they’ve been sending me press release emails for almost a year because I wasn’t proactive enough to write them and introduce myself properly. Not that I’m such big shot that they should know who I am, but I was embarrassed because they were kind enough to invite someone they didn’t even know.

So yes, I believe it’s helpful to introduce yourself to your favourite brand’s PRs. I emailed PRs of brands that I’m passionate about, just to say hi, introduce myself, letting them know what my blog’s about, and if they could add me to their mailing list for future press releases. I also enclosed my media kit at the end of the emails. All of the PRs who responded to my emails were very glad that I touched based with them.

Most important point to note is not to expect that you will be placed onto their call-out list (where they send you products). At the end of the day, it’s vital to establish a good working relationship with them for any potential future campaigns, and not to expect freebies. I mention this because there are, sadly, a number of beauty blogs set up mainly to get “free stuff”, and that’s not how it works.

Having said that, I’m sure they’d love to hear from you!
