Estee Lauder Modern Mercury Pure Color Liquid Eyeliner in Graphite

There’s one item of makeup which I almost never wear, and that is liquid eyeliner. It’s funny because I used to be damn good at art back in the day, and can paint a thin straight line with a nylon brush with the precision and steady hands of a surgeon. But when it comes to drawing a fine, accurate line on my perimeter of my eyes, I’m absolute rubbish. My hands would shake, and I would almost always end up with ugly, jagged lines that I have to get rid off with makeup remover.

It’s an envy of mine to see ladies who can effortlessly create the winged tip ala Taylor Swift, because it’s something I couldn’t achieve with most of the liquid eyeliners I’ve tried. That is, until I discovered Estee Lauder’s Modern Mercury Pure Colour Liquid Eyeliner.

An Interview With Marie Drago, Brand Guru of Soap & Glory

Soap and Glory LogoA few weeks ago, I received an email from Elise Garland PR, letting me know that Marie Drago, the brand guru of Soap & Glory in the UK, would be in Melbourne for a whirlwind trip, and if I would be interested in getting an one-on-one interview with her? Soap and Glory? Well, mother may I!

Still, it would be my first one-on-one interview with someone, so I was quite anxious thinking up of questions to ask (okay, it’s technically not my first interview, since I have interviewed quite a number of people for engineering jobs donkey years ago. But that was boring stuff and this was fun :P). So, armed with my trusty blogging notebook and iPhone to be used as a voice recorder, I headed to Kit Cosmetics at MYER Melbourne CBD.

Prevent The Stinkies with Dove’s Roll-on Antiperspirant Deodorant (Plus A Giveaway!)

I can’t really remember when it was that I started using anti-perspirant deodorants. My mum, bless her, is against using anti-perspirants. She thinks that it’s bad for the skin, that it could cause cancer or something. Mum, I love you, but you don’t stink, you never have, and you probably never will. Me, I ain’t so lucky.

I’m quite a lazy bugger now obviously, but little do you know, I was quite an athlete back in the day. I wasn’t that good to represent my school, but I used to run a lot, especially 100m sprints. I’d practise after school for hours and I would come home smelling like something died in my school shirt.

To counter that problem, I bought my very first roll-on anti-perspirant. It was a Lady Speedstick, and I had to hide it from mum lest she starts giving me that lecture about cancer. Again. Fast forward 15 years. I’m still using deodorants, much to mum’s chagrin. Roll-ons, sprays, you name it.

A few months ago I started using Dove’s Roll-On antipersipirant deodorants, which were kindly sent to me for trial. I’ve used their sprays for years, but not the roll-ons.

The Jojoba Company Intense Overnight Renewal Creme

There are times when I get sent product which are meant for dry skin, which would not work for me as I have oily/combination skin. Thus, I have enlisted the help of LeGeeque to review such products as she has dry skin.

Today, she will be reviewing The Jojoba Company’s Intense Overnight Renewal Creme. These are her words, but I have edited the headings to fit into the theme of the blog reviews.

The Jojoba Company Intense Overnight Renewal Creme

It happened one day when I was pawing through Tine’s stash of makeup and skin care. Now, that’s another post altogether on how gobsmacked I was when I was feasting my eyes on her precious collection.

My eye fell onto this tub of night cream and I got curious. I’ve never heard of the Jojoba Company before and because it claims to be all-natural, it piqued my curiosity a little bit more. I was running low on my usual night cream and because Tine and I are at the stage of friendship where we’ve done away with all the hak-hei-ness (Tine: Cantonese for standing in ceremony, I think) in life, I unabashedly, thick-skinnedly asked to bring the tub home with me! 😀
