Clinique Cheek Pop Blush Pop in Ginger Pop: That’s A Whole Lotta Pops!

Clinique Cheek Pop Blush Pop in Ginger Pop

When I first saw images of Clinique’s new Cheek Pop blushes on Temptalia, it was love at first sight. Love for blushes? Check. Love for gerberas? Check. Blush that has a pattern of a gerbera? OMG check, check, CHECK!

Right, so I may or may not have rushed out to Chadstone the moment this was launched in Australia and picked up a Cheek Pop Blush for myself. Moth to a flame, people. I’m moth to the bloody blush flame, I tell ya. 😛

I noticed a lot of bloggers writing about the more vibrant shades like Plum and Berry so I decided to try out the more subtle Ginger Pop instead. In fact, this was the colour that called out to me in store when usually the brighter colours would.

Not Very Picture Perfect with Cargo’s HD Picture Perfect Translucent Powder

Cargo HD Picture Perfect Translucent Powder

Happy Monday, folks!

If you’ve been shopping at MYER lately, you’ll notice that Kit Cosmetics is finally stocking Cargo cosmetics. When I first found out that it’s now available in Australia, my first thought was “FINALLY!” I tried some of their makeup years ago and they’re actually pretty good. Apparently they were available in Australia about 10 years ago, got pulled and now, years later, it’s back again.

Good. Stay put, y’hear Cargo?

Anyway, I had the pleasure of trying out a couple of recent products from Cargo and today I thought I’d share my thoughts about the Cargo HD Picture Perfect Translucent Powder with you.

Nailing It: Estée Lauder Pure Color in Hot Spell

Estée Lauder Pure Color in Hot Spell

The Hot Spell is part of the Bronze Goddess Summer ’14 collection and my oh my, it’s hot all right.

It’s a bright coral red jelly that screams summer and I absolutely love it. It’s so easy to apply and looks great on the nails. It did chip a little after a couple of days but to be fair, I was using my hands to lift things and clean the house over the weekend so that’s to be expected.

How To Recycle and Reuse Candle Jars

Happy Friday, folks!

Today I thought I’d do something not-really-beauty-related-but-may-be-oh-I-don’t-know different today and show you a tutorial on how to recycle and reuse candle jars.

Cleaning and Recycling Candle Glass Jars

Here’s a little known fact about me (at least, I don’t think I’ve mentioned this on the blog or social media), I make my own candles. I still buy beautiful candles e.g. Glasshouse, Circa Home, Mrs Meyers’, etc from time to time, but nothing beats having your own homemade candles.

Oh wait. I told you I make my own candles in my last candle-y post, didn’t I?

*facepalm*

Right. Carry on.

Soy is my wax of choice simply because it’s much safer for the household and it’s easier to clean up if there’s any spillage. Cheapie paraffin wax candles smoke easily and usually don’t burn evenly, leaving a hollow in the middle of your candle. I highly, HIGHLY recommend soy candles if you’re a fan of burning candles at home.
