This gorgeous Napoleon Perdis nail polish is part of a duo set that comes in a even more beautiful cosmetics bag designed by Australian painter Felicia Aroney. This is a limited edition duo of colour-coordinated lip gloss and nail polish.

It’s actually called Love Birds, which would have been perfect for a pre-Valentine’s Day post but I thought I’d post it on the day instead. Who knows, you might be able to *ahem* get this on sale when Valentine’s Day is over. Don’t quote me on that though. 😛

I’m not a fan of matchy-matchy makeup so for today, I’ll just be showing you the nail polish in Gold Finch. It’s a beautiful nude nail polish with just a hint of shimmer. It’s the sort of creme shade that’s very office-appropriate but still has just a bit of unoffending shimmer for a bit of sparkle.

When a number of products from the Estée Lauder Bronzer Goddess Summer ’14 collection landed on my desk for review, I was speechless. In a good way and bad. Good because holy moly, have you seen how absolutely beautiful the products are? If not, you have to check them out in store because they are STUNNING. Bad because man, there’s one too many bronzers! I don’t use bronzers all that much so I was worried how I was going to try these out and review them.

But, being the curious beauty blogger that I am, I had to give them a go and I’m glad I did because heck, I even like the bronzers! I know. Who’s this Tine, eh? 😛

I wasn’t sent everything in the collection, of course, but I’m lucky to be sent these gorgeous pieces of makeup that I’d love to share my thoughts with you.

Last week, I confessed my secret about Photoshopping my nail polish swatch photos. Let me just say, I breathed a huge sigh of relief that you guys didn’t even call me out on it. I was quite worried that I’d get a lot of comments on how you didn’t know I edit my photos like that and that you’re disappointed that I do so. In fact, no one said anything about photo editing. No news is good news, I say. 🙂

There are a lot of people aren’t keen on bloggers using Photoshop because the images should be natural and not touched up. I understand their reason; after all, there’s more than enough of air-brushing in magazines and newspapers, surely blogs are supposed to keep it real? Well, yes and no.

All of us have seen the amount of airbrushing in magazines and a lot are downright ridiculous. No one has that degree of flawless skin, not even a baby! Magazines sell us an illusion of beautiful … everything. A lot of us still buy them despite all that airbrushing because we hang on to that dream of flawless skin and silky, shiny hair. I get it. Hey, my house is full of magazines like that.
