LACURA Beauty’s Bronzing Pearls: Giving You A Rose Gold Complexion For A Fiver

LACURA Beauty Bronzing Pearls

Aldi. Seriously, what am I to do without you? You save me heaps of money from not getting the Nespresso coffee machine and getting your much cheaper version (coffee’s still good!), you save me at least 30% off my usual grocery bill and you showed me you do good blushers for under a tenner. What about your other beauty items, Aldi? Think you can keep up at it?

LACURA Beauty Bronzing Pearls

I stumbled across their Bronzing Pearls when I was doing my usual grocery run. Now you know I’m not that into bronzing but it was FIVE DOLLARS and I just couldn’t miss out on a bargain. So into the shopping basket it went along with my bok choy and eggs.

So, how did the Bronzing Pearls do? Is it as good as the blushers?

Quickie Mention: Maybelline Baby Lips in Energizing Orange

Maybelline Baby Lips in Energizing Orange

It took me this long to finally cave in and try the popular Maybelline Baby Lips lipbalm. There were lots of mixed reviews on this; a lot of people love it and there were also a lot of people who hate it. Seeing that I already have so many lipbalms to last me a lifetime … well of course I need another one now, don’t I?

Maybelline Baby Lips in Energizing Orange

There were so many to choose from and since I love anything that taste like oranges, I picked up the one in Energizing Orange. Okay, can I end the Quickie Mention right now and say that this was a waste of $3.50? No?

I don’t like it. It’s hard, waxy, just coats the lips but doesn’t moisturise it and makes it rubbish for lipsticks to sit on top. There isn’t much of an orange taste, not even an artificial one. I don’t know, is it just me? Or do you feel the same about the Baby Lips too?

Man, that $3.50 could have gone to a very good cup of coffee. 😛

Want To Shop For Beauty Products in Australia? Here Are My Top Picks (Part 2 – Makeup)

Want To Shop For Beauty Products in Australia? Here Are My Top Picks (Part 2 - Makeup)

Following up on my first post on shopping for skincare products in Australia, I thought I’d do a part 2 today and that’s on makeup.

One thing I love about makeup by Australian brands is that compared to skincare, good Aussie makeup can actually be a lot more affordable. I’m not sure if this is a little known fact or if it’s worldwide knowledge but drugstore brands like Revlon, L’Oreal, Physician’s Formula, Almay, Covergirl and even Maybelline are actually a lot more expensive in Australia compared to the US and Asia. Most of them have at least a 100% markup in price which is why if you’re visiting Australia and looking to buy makeup, I wouldn’t recommend you get those brands here.

By all means go check them out and if you like the products and are happy to get them, go for it! If not, there are plenty of good and affordable Australian makeup for you to check out too.

Here are some of the brands and products I’d recommend you check out in no particular order.
