Back To Lippie Basics with Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipglosses

I’m just thinking back on when the last time it was that I used lipgloss … and I can’t remember! We go through phases of makeup where we begin experimenting with lipgloss and once we start wearing more makeup, we move on to lipsticks. At least, I know I did. I’ve been wearing lipsticks a lot more than gloss these days mostly because windy days and long hair just don’t go well together. Especially when said gloss and hair sticks to your face and leaves unsightly pink/red lines which you didn’t even notice! 😛

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss

Still, it’s nice to go back to the basics every now and then. When Revlon sent me some of their Super Lustrous lipglosses to try out, I was impressed at how beautiful the colours were. So gloss on hair on face be damned; I’m going to slap some lipgloss on and battle the wind. 🙂

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss

I thought I’d show you 4 lovely shades today. There are heaps more in the Super Lustrous range but I thought these colours are good choices especially if you’re just starting to build your lippie collection. These are pigmented but not crazily so that your lips get smacked with colour at first application. They’re typical lipglosses that inject a shine of colour on your lips, not so much lip lacquers like Rimmel’s Apocalips or L’Oreal’s Shine Caresse.

Sisley Botanical D-Tox Detoxifying Night Treatment: The Detox My Post-Holiday Skin Needed

During the last leg of my holiday over a month ago, my skin was already crying out for mercy. Sure I had the Brown Bottle 2.0 to help maintain my skin the best it could but after much flying, eating out, switching of water hardness, etc, my skin was tired. If I was ready to go home, you can say that my skin has packed its bags and is pretty much on its way out.

Sisley Botanical D-Tox Detoxifying Night Treatment

Now just before I left for the holiday, Sisley contacted me and asked me if I’d like to try their Botanical D-Tox Detoxifying Night Treatment. It sounded like a good serum to try out so I said oh why not. I didn’t realise how much I’d need it until I picked the bottle up from the PO box when I finally came back and after reading the description again, it really sounded like something my parched, dull and patchy skin needed. I don’t know anything about detoxifying the skin (does your liver does that too?) but I was ready to try anything.

Still, it’s one hell of a pricey product so most importantly, did it work?

Bloggie Wednesdays: How Comfortable Are You Showing Your Face Online?

Bloggie Wednesdays: How Comfortable Are You Showing Your Face Online?

© Porsche Brosseau

I’m quite a paranoid person. In fact, that would be an understatement. I drive Tim absolutely bonkers with my paranoia. The littlest sounds in the house, and I automatically think someone has broken in. I have a bad headache and automatically think I may have a brain tumour. Whenever I’m walking on my own, I always turn behind to see if anyone is following me. I could tell you more but even I’d be scaring myself.

When I started blogging, I was determined to never show my face on the blog. This was before tweeting pictures and Instagramming came about. A selfie wasn’t even a recognised word then. Even on my personal blog (which is now pretty much defunct), I wouldn’t show my face. It was strange blogging about beauty when I couldn’t show my face. Face of the Day posts were something I didn’t think I’d want to do. It became exceedingly difficult for me to review makeup without showing how it looked on me. Readers couldn’t relate to me either. I had a massive wall between us.

The first time I decided to show my face, I wore massive sunglasses that covered half of it. Yeah, real cute. Not really.

Quickie Mention: LUSH Santa’s Lip Scrub

LUSH Santa's Lip Scrub

Look out your window now and if you see any flying cows, it’s because I finally stepped into a LUSH store without being dragged in by wild horses! 😀

LUSH Santa's Lip Scrub

I just wanted to do a quick dash-in-dash-out to check out their shower gels, which I’ve heard good things about. I didn’t get any in the end but I did pick up their limited edition Christmas lip scrub called, surprise surprise, Santa’s Lip Scrub.
