Bloggie Wednesdays: Ask Me Anything!

Bloggie Wednesdays: Ask Me Anything!

Happy Hump Day, folks!

For those who celebrate Cup Day yesterday, how was it? Did you win any of the races? By the way, for those of you who aren’t clear about what Melbourne Cup Day is, it’s a public holiday for residents in Melbourne to celebrate horse racing for the Melbourne Cup. It baffled me when I first moved to Melbourne 5 years ago to find out that there literally is a public holiday for such an event! πŸ˜›

Anyway, it’s been almost 5 months since I last did an Ask Me Anything post on Bloggie Wednesdays so today, I thought I’d leave the comments open for any questions you have.

For those of you new to Beautyholics Anonymous, hello and welcome! If you’re not sure what Ask Me Anything is, well, the name says it all. Just ask me anything! If you have any questions about anything at all, whether it’s related to beauty, blogging, shopping, food or anything under the sun, just holler. If I’m able to help you out at all, I will. If not, let’s open it to the floor where other readers may be able to help you as well.

If you don’t have any questions, do drop in and say hi. How are you doing?

Me, I’ve been doing all right, I guess. There are some health issues that requires medical tests and all that but so far, there’s no real cause for concern yet. I’ll tell you more about it when the time comes. I’m expecting a guest in my home next week, which is super exciting. Again, will share more when the time is right. Gee, I’m all secretive today, aren’t I? πŸ˜›

Enough about me, over to you! Tell me anything. Ask me anything!

Bloggie Wednesdays is a series of articles just on blogging. They contain tips, how-tos, discussions about anything and everything you need to know about blogging and how we can be better bloggers. If you have any suggestions, tips and tricks about blogging you would like to share with us, or if you have any questions you would like me to address, please let us know in the comments.

Was It Love at First Sight with Soap and Glory’s Love At First Blush?

Soap and Glory Love At First Blush

Y’know, for someone who’s bonkers about blush, do you know that the last time I blogged about blush was on the Rudiments of Rouge series in July?! How the heck is that even possible? Over three months of blush silence is almost sacrilegious on Beautyholics Anonymous. Time to rectify that, pronto! πŸ˜›

Soap and Glory Love At First Blush Description

Today, I thought I’d share with you a blush I picked up at Boots in the UK during my holiday a month ago. It stinks that Soap and Glory still hasn’t brought their makeup line to Australia yet when they have a wide range of pretty makeup along with their skin and body care products in the UK. Whilst you probably won’t be able to get this till the cows decide to come home (unless you managed to have someone in the UK help bring the goodies to you; if that’s the case, can I be your friend? :P), I thought I might show you a bit of cute eye candy first.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation: Go Ahead, Camera. Flash My Skin!

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

A few weeks ago, I was checking my stash of foundations (as we beautyholics do ;)) and realised that I don’t actually have any foundations that doesn’t contain any sunscreen in them. It didn’t come across my mind earlier that the reason I look rather ghastly (and ghostly) when photographed in the evenings with flash photography was because I tend to use base makeup with high SPF. Duh. πŸ˜›

Base makeup (foundations and BB creams) that contain medium to high concentrations of zinc oxide and titanium dioxide tend to reflect light from the camera’s flash, making our faces look grey and washed out. This is the reason bridal makeup uses HD foundations or foundations without sunscreen on the big day so that the skin looks as good as possible in photographs.

Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

So I reached out to my readers on Facebook on what their recommendations were for foundations without sunscreen or foundations that would look great even with flash photography. The consensus was Giorgio Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation.

A Good Red

It’s difficult to find a good red sometimes. The perfect finish, the perfect taste, the perfect colour.

Of course I’m talking about a lipstick. πŸ˜‰

Diorific Collection Golden Winter's Long-Wearing True Colour Lipstick in 038 Diva

I may not have found the perfect red, but I sure found a good one. One in beautiful packaging, with a beautiful finish and colour. Okay, maybe the taste could be better but for a gorgeous red, what’s a little snag in the bigger scheme of things? πŸ˜›
