There Must Have Been So Much BB Love That L’Oreal Came Up With a BB Blush and Powder!

L'Oreal Nude Magique BB Blush and BB Powder

It was just before LMFF when L’Oreal sent me a heap of makeup that were to be used for all the runway looks to play with. A couple of products that stood out for me were the Nude Magique BB Blush (blush? But of course!) and Nude Magique BB Powder. These were 2 out of a few items I kept for myself; almost all of those makeup are now with my international giveaway winners! 🙂

I thought I’d share my thoughts on the blush and powder with you. There are many things I like about the makeup but just one thing I’m not too keen on.

What are they, I hear you ask?

Hitting The Smooth-Skin Ball Out of the Park With Dr Lewinn’s Reversaderm

It’s incredibly rare that I come across a skincare range that impresses me almost instantly. Most skincare products, especially serums, take at least a month to fully see its results.

I was very excited to try out Dr Lewinn’s Reversaderm range. I love their Super Hydrator serum and couldn’t wait to test the Reversaderm serum. I was lucky to be able to test three products from the range, and that’s the Micro-Cellular Age Correcting Peel, the Tri-Collagen Accelerating Serum and the Antioxidant Regenerative Cream.

Dr Lewinn's Reversaderm

Before I get to the reviews of each item, I thought I’d briefly describe what this range does. It’s very light chemical peels in a bottle (or in this case, 2 bottles and a jar). It’s essentially a resurfacing treatment range that promises to diminish the appearance of imperfections including sun spots, fine lines and acne scars for brighter, smoother and more youthful-looking skin. In short, it’s a treatment range of chemical exfoliation on the skin. Chemical peels at salons begin from 10% strength all the way up to 70% (I saw this online once. 70%! That will sting like a mother. Time for a new face perhaps? :P) and they’re often pretty expensive treatments.

The Reversaderm range has a much lighter intensity. Having said that, I don’t recommend this for those with very sensitive skin (or even just sensitive skin) because it might be too strong for the skin. If you’re not sure, I highly recommend you check with your dermatologist if your skin is suitable for this type of at-home skin resurfacing treatments.

Right, with that out of the way, it’s on to the reviews!

Beauty Mistakes and Regrets. I Have ‘Em.

Beauty Mistakes and Regrets. I Have 'Em.

© Mart1n

Sigh … beauty regrets. I sure have them. You know all those little secret behaviours we engage in, the things we shouldn’t do but still did anyway? Or perhaps it’s something we don’t even know is bad for us yet still indulge in?

For example, let’s talk about bright blue matte eyeshadow. I didn’t know I couldn’t pull it off until I saw myself in pictures much later. Or that I should have left my eyebrows to the experts instead of trying to tweeze them myself and ending up with a big hole in the middle of an eyebrow? Now you know what I mean by beauty mistakes and regrets?

I’ve made a lot of beauty mistakes in the past. Some I didn’t even know were wrong, some I knew were so wrong but I still did them anyway. Here are 3 of my biggest beauty regrets.

Beautyholics Anonymous Was Mentioned In ELLE China!

Elle China May 2013

In December 2012, I was contacted by ELLE China for a brief interview. I’ll be honest; initially, I thought the email was spam :P. I Googled and Googled somemore to double-check that the email address was legit before I got back to them with my answers and a copy of my headshot.

The story is that some of them were heading to Melbourne for a visit and would like to know more about the Australian beauty scene. I told them what I know about some must-try beauty brands and products in Australia and what Australia is famous for. I didn’t hear from them again for 3 months. I really didn’t think they’d run the story. I checked out their website and there was nothing. Little did I know that they didn’t just only run the story, they did it in print! Beautyholics Anonymous has a brief mention in the May issue of ELLE China. 😛
