Bloggie Wednesdays: Create Your Editorial Calendar for 2013

Bloggie Wednesdays: Create Your Editorial Calendar for 2013

Can you believe how quickly time has flown? We’re already 5 days in to December and very soon 2013 will be upon us. Time, where did you go?!

2012 has been a great year for me and the blog. If you’ve been following Beautyholics Anonymous for the past year, you’d have noticed that I’ve been posting on an almost daily basis for the last 365 days. Except for a number of Sundays, that’s at least 300 posts a year. It’s not a lot for folks who blog more than once a day, but it sure is a lot for me.

Being organised is one of the most difficult things about blogging. Sure it’s easy when inspiration hits me and I manage to produce content, one post after another, just like that *snap*. But when I’m running very low on blogging juice, that’s when the alarm starts to ring.

Thank heavens for something called an editorial calendar.

Scrub-A-Dub-Dub, Three Scrubs In A Tub (Featuring Comvita, Cosmecology and Bioderma)

Even though I’ve taken to using the Konjac sponge during my face-cleansing ritual on a nightly basis, I still use a proper facial scrub once a week to give my skin a good ol’ exfoliation and remove the dead skin cells. It’s not a step in my skincare routine I’d readily give up just yet in favour of the sponge and chemical exfoliation.

Scrub-A-Dub-Dub, Three Scrubs In A Tub (Featuring Comvita, Cosmecology and Bioderma)

Months ago, I had the opportunity to try out three different facial scrubs. Even with different descriptions to the products, each does essentially the same thing – remove dead skin cells. But I can still play favourites, can’t I? 😉

Trying to Come Up With A Fancy Title To Go With Shu Uemura’s TSUYA Skin Youthful Radiance Generator Is Hard!

I’ve tried, I truly have! 😛

Ahem. Back to the review.

The only skincare products I’ve tried by Shu Uemura are their cleansing oils. Other than the classic yellow one (not a fan), I really like their cleansing oils. When I was given the opportunity to try out their TSUYA Skin Youthful Radiance Generator (henceforth referred to as TSUYA Skin because the full name’s a mouthful), I was intrigued. The name Shu Uemura is synonymous with gorgeous false eyelashes, pretty makeup and great cleansing oils. Will the TSUYA Skin work too?

Five Minutes with My Favourite Blogger: Carly @ Smaggle

Five Minutes with My Favourite Blogger is a series of posts where I’ll be showcasing some of my favourite bloggers. These are the bloggers whom I admire and inspire me.

Enjoy!

Five Minutes with My Favourite Blogger: Carly @ Smaggle

My style icon: Diana Vreeland. She was effortlessly glamorous. She wore floor length gowns and turbans and she had beautiful red nails and exquisite jewellery. She put Kenneth Jay Lane on the map and also invented the word ‘pizazz’. How fabulous is that?

Dream holiday destination: New York but when I move there, anywhere in the Netherlands. I’m a sucker for Scandinavian design.

One random thing you can find in my bag: Rubber gloves. It’s a long story.

My favourite item of makeup: I just received NARS Orgasm blush from a girlfriend for my birthday and I’m completely addicted. I suspect it will be a long term love affair.

You will never see me without: My iPhone, my beaten up pink Sigg handbag sized water bottle and mascara.

I’m absolutely addicted to: Chobani Plain Greek Yogurt, Burts Bees Lemon Cuticle Cream, Benefit Brow Bar eyebrow waxes and making my niece laugh.

One thing on my bucket list: I’m really not much of a thrill seeker so bucket list items for me include general travel like renting a car and seriously doing America and spending a summer in France or Italy. I’d also like to hold a variety of baby animals like a monkey or hedgehog or a baby bear.

Carly blogs at Smaggle.
