Glossybox Valentine’s Day Edition

Remember when I posted about Beauty Box a few months ago? A month after that post, Beautybox announced that it was taken over by Glossybox. After a couple of months of “research”, I unsubscribed to the box. No major issues, it’s just that my “research period” was over. Boo! 😛

As luck would have it, last week, I received the February edition of Glossybox in the mail for review. Let’s unbox it, shall we?

Making Families, Not Orphans with Trilogy’s Helping Hand Wash

When it comes to charity, I find many brands only donate a tiny portion of the sales of a particular product to their selected organisations, and I don’t like it. When I stumbled upon this limited edition hand wash by Trilogy, I figured it was just another product to boost profits while donating 10cents to charity. It was only when I dug deeper that I realised I was wrong.

Trilogy Helping Hand Wash

In celebration of 10 years in business, 2012 sees high performance natural skincare brand Trilogy launch a year-long campaign to raise funds for Child’s i Foundation. In Uganda, poverty, disease and violence are rife, which leads to hundres of children being abandoned every year. Child’ i Foundation is helping solve this endemic problem. The charity’s transitional home and family support centre provides quality short-term care for babies; while its Social Work Team ensures every child in its care grows up in a loving family in Uganda.

Relaxing with My Favourite Facial Sheet Masks

I’m a big fan of facial sheet masks. For a lazy bugger like me, I find them more convenient and sometimes more effective than cream masks that I have to wash off after a few minutes. Plus it’s a great way to relax at the end of the day, with a cold sheet mask on my face and reading a book or a magazine on the iPad.

Whenever I’m in Malaysia, I always stock up on facial sheet masks as they’re much cheaper than getting them in Australia. Problem is, I also tend to stock one mask too many and end up with a bag-ful of them 😛

Bloggie Wednesdays: Do You Need a Facebook Page for your Blog?

Bloggie Wednesdays: Do You Need a Facebook Page for your Blog?

I’ve noticed a lot of blogs coming up with their own Facebook pages lately. Questions like this also arose on Twitter – “do I need a Facebook page for my blog?

No doubt we are at the social media age where websites like Twitter, Facebook, Google+, Tumblr, etc are probably, to a lot of us, the best things since sliced bread. What better and affordable way to market your website and goods than through these channels?

I’m taking a wild guess that if you’re reading this blog post, you’re either on Facebook or on Twitter. Or both. Many of us use Facebook and Twitter for different reasons. We use Facebook to connect with our friends in school, ex-classmates, family, long-lost relatives, etc. We use Twitter to do just about anything else we wouldn’t on Facebook for the fear that our mothers might find out (I avoid teaching my mother how to get on Facebook and Twitter at all costs. True story).
