Kiehls Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream – A Watery Goo?

I first heard about this moisturiser from Paris B. She raved about it, and I obviously had to have it. At a Kiehls Beauty Bloggers’ event in May, I excitedly asked if this moisturiser was available in Australia. Unfortunately, at that time, it wasn’t.

When the Ultra Facial Oil-Free range finally made its way to Australia, I jumped at the chance to try it out.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Go Check Your Boobs.

2011 Breast Cancer Awareness Month

I’ll be honest. For the past few years when I blogged about October as the Breast Cancer Awareness month, it was probably one of the few months when I actually did give myself breast examinations. Call it sheer laziness on my part.

Long-time readers will know that in March this year, I had a bit of a boob scare. I found a lump the size of a golf ball on my left breast. It freaked the hell out of me because 1) my family did not have any history of cancers, much less breast cancer and 2) I thought I was too young to get cancer. I know. I was a moron.

The Australian Beauty Bloggers Weekend – The Goodie Bags

This is the last post on the ABBW 2011, I promise 🙂

Prior to the ABBW, all beauty bloggers flying in to Sydney were advised to bring as little as possible, a big bag and to check our luggage in. I packed minimally for the weekend, using as much sample sachets as I could. My luggage to Sydney was 1 bag (14kg) with no carry-ons.

Pre-ABBW

Pre-ABBW luggage

I came home with 22.7kg of checked in luggage, and 7kg in an additional carry-on bag.

The amount of stuff we received at the ABBW was overwhelming to say the least. The sponsors were incredibly generous and plied us with so many goodies that it really was a feat trying to pack them in. I had to sit on my luggage in order to close it!

The Australian Beauty Bloggers Weekend – Part 2

I’ll be honest. I was completely wiped out on Day 1. I was out like a light as soon as my head touched the pillow. Still, I was highly looking forward to what Day 2 of the ABBW would bring.

DAY 2

Alpha-H Breakfast

The morning started off with breakfast at the Novotel hosted by Alpha-H. I may or may not have had too many of the delicious spinach quiches that morning; my apologies to those who wanted one and was left with fruit 😛

ABBW Alpha-H Breakfast

After brekkie, we adjourned to the function room. We were introduced to the brand by Channel 7 TV presenter Karen Ledbury, who was a guest speaker at the event. Alpha-H director Michelle Doherty and national salon trainer Bianca Georgiou then introduced their bestselling product to us, which is the Alpha-H Liquid Gold range. Each blogger was given a trial pack of the Liquid Gold Skin Perfecting System to try out. I’ve only used their Gentle Daily Exfoliant, which I really liked, so I’m very keen on giving the Liquid Gold range a go.
