Bioderma Hydrabio Exfoliating Cream, Hydrabio H2O and Hydrabio Light Cream

I first heard of the Hydrabio range last year when popular makeup artist Lisa Eldridge posted a picture of her Parisian pharmacy shopping haul on Instagram that contained a lot of Hydrabio products, especially the micellar water. As usual, it took a while for the range to finally be available in Australia and thankfully, it now is.

A couple of months ago, I was given the opportunity to try out skincare products from the Hydrabio range. I was pretty selective in the items I’d like to give a go and I decided on the Exfoliating Cream, the micellar water and the Light Cream. The Hydrabio range also contains an Intense Moisturising Serum, a Moisturising Toning Lotion and a rich moisturising cream.

Bobbi Brown Lip Colour in Malt Shimmer

When this gold Bobbi Brown lipstick first landed on my desk, I admit I didn’t know what to make of the colour. It wasn’t as if I was expecting a specific shade; let’s just say that brown wouldn’t be my first pick and this looked pretty darn brown in the bullet. Tsk tsk fussy much?

However, what a 180 degree turn this was when I swatched and finally wore it on my lips. It’s really beautiful!

Models Prefer Mineral Powder Soft Touch Powder in Photo Ready

I first heard of Models Prefer’s Mineral Powder Soft Touch powders on Twitter during the last 40% off all cosmetics sale at Priceline. A number of bloggers mentioned that the new Soft Touch powders were dupes for the more expensive Hourglass’ Ambient Lighting Powders. Now y’all know I love my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder and find it quite on par with the Guerlain Meteorites.

Still, I was intrigued to see if these Soft Touch powders really are dupes for the Hourglass powders so I decided to pick one up to try out. Guess when it was that I bought one of the Soft Touch Powders? A day AFTER the sale ended. At full price. *face palm*

Covergirl Aquasmooth Makeup: Discovering A Compact Foundation That I Actually Like

Even though I love me liquid foundations, I’m typically not a fan of compact ones. Y’know, the ones that come in slightly hardened cream in a compact? I’ve not tried a lot of the compact ones, mind you, but the ones that I’ve tried were quite thick and gave me far too much coverage that my skin didn’t need. It could be due to the lack of skills in application, of course, which is why I usually steer clear of compact cream foundations and just stick to the good ol’ liquid ones.

Last month, I reviewed Covergirl’s Trublend foundation and reader Sushiroll (love your name!) recommended that I check out Covergirl’s Aquasmooth foundation. A week or two later, I discovered that my local Coles were having a 50% off all Covergirl makeup sale and I saw the Aquasmooth compact foundation waaaay at the bottom of the shelf. To be honest, I thought the Aquasmooth foundation would be a liquid one but since it was ten bucks after discount, I thought why not give it a go?

Great recommendation, Sushiroll, because this is possibly the best cream compact foundation I’ve ever tried!
