I’m always on the lookout for good sunscreens for the face. I’ve found a few which I thought were great at first, but they always fell short after a while. My skin would shine like the sun, and not in a good way, after a couple of hours. It’s not a good look, not with that godawful sheen reflecting off my rather large nose.

I stumbled upon Dermalogica’s Oil-Free Matte Block SPF20 during a facial treatment at Endota Spa. The beauty therapist applied it on my skin when the facial was over, and when I saw how oil-free it was, I bought a bottle to try. I have to say, I’m impressed.

The lotion is light in texture, and doesn’t smell dodgy. You know how sunscreens can be; they usually have this awful chemical scent which turns me off big time. This sunscreen does not have an odd scent; in fact, it doesn’t smell of anything. It absorbs quickly, which meant I didn’t have to blot any off my skin with a tissue before applying my powder foundation. Even though it contains dimethicone, it doesn’t have that silicon-y texture like say, Smashbox’s Photo Finish Foundation Primer.

What’s great about this sunscreen is that it’s oil-free. My oily T-zone remains grease-free for hours, and I don’t even feel as though I had anything on my face. So for me, this is a great find indeed.

Dermalogica Oil Free Matte Block SPF20 (50ml) is available at all Endota Spa salons, and leading departmental stores stocking the brand. It’s priced at AU$64 (don’t bother getting it from Strawberrynet, as it’s more expensive there (AU$69)).

What I like about it: Light texture, fragrance-free and oil free. Big thumbs up in my book.

What I do not like about it: Nothing

I’m loving my Borne Naked bag liner I bought last month.

It’s meant to be a, well, as the name puts it, a bag liner or organiser, but I’m using it as my makeup bag. It comes with 2 mesh compartments inside, and the B on the zipper is just adorable!

Oh, and this is what I meant about having a bag organiser within a bag organiser.

Talk about obsessive-compulsive and anal. Damn, am I turning into my mum?! 😛
