Beauty On The Go: My 1-Litre-For-The-Plane Bag

With the LAG restrictions on carry-on baggage for air travel, every traveler is now required to put all carried-on liquids, aerosol sprays, gels, etc into a clear 1-litre bag with the maximum of 100ml per item.

So here’s mine. Amazing that I’m able to stuff so much stuff into the bag, huh? Trust me though, if you use a sandwich bag, you’d have even more room to squeeze more stuff into.

1 Litre Travel Bag

Other Side of 1 Litre Travel Bag

Origins Peace of Mind On-The-Spot Relief
Facial cleanser (decanted bottle of Cetaphil)
Nivea lip gloss
Silk Naturals lip gloss in Foreplay
Softlips lip balm
Depotted jar of Clinique Dramatically Moisturising Gel
L’occitane Cherry Blossom Petal-soft Hand Cream
Benetint
Avene Thermal Spring Water spray
Eye drops
Wet wipes

I have a separate toiletries bag for which I check in. Two in fact. Yep, I brought a heck lot of beauty lotions and potions with me :p

Honeymoon Hiatus

Honeymoon Sticky NoteI’m finally off for my honeymoon!

As such, I’ll be on a hiatus for about three weeks. I’ve arranged for some scheduled blog posts throughout the period that I’ll be away (gotta love the ability to be able to create scheduled posts). However, I won’t be able to reply comments or emails quickly during that time, so don’t be too alarmed, eh?

I should be able to update my Twitter every now and then, so do check it out.

I’ll be back with LOTS of pictures from the holiday, and, I’m sure you’d be more interested in, my shopping haul! 🙂

My Island Beauty Needs on Home Spa Goddess

Aww lookit here, I’ve been featured on Home Spa Goddess!

Home Spa Goddess Featuring Beautyholics Anonymous August 08

It shows the beauty items I’d want with me if I were to be stranded on a deserted island. Of course, I wouldn’t actually bother with that if I really am stranded in one (except for sunscreen; I’d definitely need sunscreen), but for fun, let’s just assume I would :p

Go check it out!

Review: Blistex Lip Infusion (Cool Splash)

Blistex Lip Infusion

Description:

Blistex Lip Infusion Cool Splash imparts an immediate cooling and moist sensation as it effortlessly rolls on lips via a stainless steel rolling tip.

A liquid formula, so it feels light and comfortable on your lips even as it moisturises and protects.

Bathes your lips in moisture and the sheer liquid formula goes in quickly and deeply for effortless hydration. It leaves your lips feeling soft as silk.

SPF 12 – Moderate Protection Sunscreen PABA-Free

Ingredients:

Pentaerythrityl tetraisostearate, Caprylic/capric triglyceride, Wool fat, Octyl methoxycinnamate, Lanolin Oil, C 10-30 Cholesterol/Lanosterol Esters, Octyl salicylate, Polybutene, Simmondsia chinensis, Rape oil/tung oil copolymer, Squalane, Gransil CS cool, Mint Oils, Cholesteryl/behenyl/octyldodecyl lauroyl glutamate, Phenoxyethanol, Canola Oil, Menthol, Spearmint Fragrance, Saccharine, Aloe barbadensis.

Blistex Lip Infusion Cool Splash

The Blistex Lip Infusion Cool Splash is a mint flavoured liquid lip balm that glides on with an smooth rolling tip. It looks a roll-on perfume, but for the lips. When I first tried it on, I was very pleasantly surprised at how cold the metal ball was when it rolled against my lips. It felt really good on a hot day. Imagine running an icecube along your lips on a stinkin’ hot day. Yep, that’s the feeling. The menthol and spearmint also left my lips feeling tingly.

Blistex Lip Infusion Cool Splash Uncapped

The liquid left a very shiny sheen on my lips. It’s like lipgloss, just without any of the stickiness. Plus it’s got SPF 12, which is very good. We often slather sunscreen all over our face, neck, arms and legs, but forget our lips.

Unfortunately, that’s just all about that’s good about the lip balm. It claims to moisturise lips. My lips actually felt drier after using this! Everytime I reapplied the lip balm, my lips got worse. It just felt as though the liquid was sucking the moisture out of my parched lips. I had to stop using this after a while, and went back to my Softlips.

There are also a lot of negative reviews on Makeup Alley, where most of the reviewers claimed it to strip moisture off their lips too. So bye bye to you Blistex Lip Infusion. Another bad buy 🙁

Blistex Lip Infusion is available at Priceline and most drugstores.

Although I have to say, I do like the concept of a roll-on lip balm. If they improved on the formula, I might give it another go.

Do you know of any other roll-on lipbalms?

What I like about it: Good concept of a roll-on lip balm. Nice glossy sheen on the lips.

What I did not like about it: Dried my lips out big time. That’s a big boo boo for a lip balm.
