Review: : L’occitane Cherry Blossom Petal-Soft Hand Cream

I simply love L’occitane’s Cherry Blossom range. Short of the body lotion, I have all the products in the range. In fact, I loved it so much, I made it my wedding scent. Whenever I use any of the Cherry Blossom items, it just brought me back to my big day. So when I saw the new petal-soft hand cream in the L’occitane store in Chadstone, I knew I had to get it.

L'occitane Cherry Blossom Petal Soft Hand Cream

Description:

Enriched with Shea Butter and vitamin E, this lightly textured and non-greasy cream nourishes and protects hands from daily aggressions. They are soft, moisturized and delicately perfumed with Cherry Blossom’s enveloping flowery scent. Contains a cherry extract from Luberon, France.

L'occitane Cherry Blossom Petal Soft Hand Cream with Samples

A thing I love about the L’occitane stores here is that you always get free samples with your purchase, no matter how small. Even if you don’t buy anything, if you’re polite and friendly to the sales assistants and request for samples on a certain product you’d like to try, they’d be more than happy to oblige.

I love how good the hand cream smells. It’s soft, flowery and sweet, but not over-the-top, sickly sweet. It’s not greasy, and light as a hand cream, but hydrating enough to keep my hands soft and smelling good. As the weather is getting drier and more chilly, my cuticles started to give me problems, and the skin around the area started to peel. A few applications of the hand cream cleared ’em right up.

L'occitane Cherry Blossom Petal Soft Hand Cream Nozzle

I have to say that I’m pretty impressed with how the cream is dispensed. Instead of having a snap-on or screw-on detachable cap, the cover is screwed on to the tube. To dispense the cream, unscrew the top, and the cream comes out of the tiny nozzle at the top. No mess at all.

Err I hope this does not remind you of poo. Or something else 😉

L'occitane Cherry Blossom Petal Soft Hand Cream

This hand cream has earned a valuable spot in my bag. I use it all the time, when I’m in the car, in the train, watching TV, etc. After application, I’d give my hands a good sniff. I swear, I think it has become my crack.

L’occitane’s Cherry Blossom Petal-Soft Hand Cream is available at all L’occitane stores and counters for AUD26.95. When I was in Malaysia, they had a similar hand cream in the small metal tubes, like the shea hand creams. Unfortunately, those were only available in limited editions, and when I went back to the stores after a few weeks, they were all snapped up. I’m not sure if the petal-soft hand creams are sold in Malaysia though. Do update me if they are, yeah?

What I like about it: Love the scent, just love it. It’s not greasy, and keeps my hands soft and hydrated.

What I did not like about it: Nothing. I even made it my wedding scent 😉

Update: According to Syen of So Loverly, the hand cream is available in Malaysia, and retails at RM63. Thanks Syen!

Crabtree and Evelyn Factory Outlet (Melbourne)

Tim and I did a bit of Googling on factory outlets in Melbourne and whaddya know, we went factory outlet hunting on Saturday and had so much fun! A lot of the factory outlets were hidden away, and you really have to drive around to locate the stores. My highlight of our factory outlet escapade was discovering a Crabtree and Evelyn factory outlet store. I didn’t know that there even was one!

Crabtree and Evelyn Outlet Sign

It’s a very small store, not exactly factory outlet-y, but a lot of the items were sold very cheaply. The products sold were mostly discontinued items, or slightly damaged ones at discounted prices (30% to 70% off selected ranges). They do stock a few of the more popular items, which were full-priced. A few of the small travel sets were selling at around AUD12, which was cheap, because these cost RM80 – RM85 in Malaysia.

Here’s a sneak peek of the store.

Inside The Factory Outlet

The bottles you see on and under the table are 500ml shower gels and body lotions Crabtree and Evelyn sells. I’ve never actually seen 500ml bottles of anything in Crabtree and Evelyn before, only the smaller ones.

As I wasn’t really in need of anything from Crabtree and Evelyn, but still wanted to get a little something from the store, I went home with a few goodies in my bag.

Benefit Posietint Is Now Available

Following my post on the up and coming Posietint by Benefit, I’m pleased to announced that it’s finally available to all, and that you can get it from the Benefit website at USD28.

Benefit Posietint
Benefit Posietint Swatch

From the looks of the colour shown on the website, it seems to be creamier than the liquid Benetint. Oh well, only one way to find out. Gonna check it out at the Benefit counter at Myer this weekend to see if it’s available yet.

Again, for my other-than-US readers, it would be cheaper for you to get any Benefit products online than via the counter, even after postage and handling fees.

Beautyholics Anonymous Turns One

Birthday

Oh my goodness, I just realised, I missed the first anniversary of Beautyholics Anonymous by 4 days!

Has it really been a year already? Where did the time go?

Oh what a journey it has been. I’ve made new friends, met up with new friends, and had quite a number of *ahem* freebies coming my way which I was very grateful for. I’ve learnt AND spent more money on makeup than I ever did ever since I starting using makeup :p

It’s good. It’s all good. And it’s all down to y’all, my lovely readers. Without you, there will be no Beautyholics Anonymous. So kudos to all of you.

Here’s to another great year ahead, all you beautyholics!
