Discovering the Face of Australia

Face of Australia

I’ll be honest, up till a couple of months ago, I’ve never even used anything from Face of Australia. Yes, even I could be a bit of a snob when it comes to drugstore brands, favouring the likes of Rimmel, Loreal and Prestige. Major pharmacies like Priceline tend to place the bigger brands nearer to the entrance of the store with big fancy lights hitting just the right places. Unfortunately, more often than not, Face of Australia would be placed at the end of the makeup brands, without any strategic lighting, making the area dark and unwelcoming.

A couple of months ago, Tina, who’s the tweeter for Face of Australia’s official Twitter page, sent me a care package containing heaps of Face of Australia products. Oh that girl knows how to grab my attention, and grab it good (never mind that after I got to know her personally, she’s absolutely hilarious and has the same sick sense of humour as I do!).

Face of Australia Face Makeup

I’ve been using their face makeup range for almost a month now, and I can safely reveal to you that I’ve hung my head in shame many times over for overlooking this little brand that could all this time.

I was beyond excited when I saw the 8 nail lacquers. They were absolutely gorgeous!

Apologies for the shoddy application of nail polish. I’ve never been good at applying nail polish, and I actually swatched all this a few hours after my surgery. Dedication, yo! ๐Ÿ˜›

Amethyst, Verdigris, White Gold and Flaming Lava are metallic shades, whereas Bronze, Gold, Titanium and Iron Ore have lots of glitter in them. I don’t really know how to describe each shade, so I hope the pictures will explain better.

The nail lacquers (except for White Gold) applies well, especially the ones with glitter, and dry fairly quickly.

Each Face of Australia Molten Metallics nail polish retails at AU$4.95 and is available at Priceline, Kmart, Big W and selected pharmacies nationwide. Beautiful shades, good quality, cheap as chips. What are you waiting for? Go get ’em! ๐Ÿ˜€

PS: These products were provided for consideration.
PPS: No, I don’t only have four fingers, although looking at those pictures of my fingers now, I can see how weird they look ๐Ÿ˜›

Going Under The Knife. Y’know, That Boob Thing

Hi lovelies,

So remember when I told you I had a boob scare a month ago? Well, I visited the breast surgeon referred by my GP last Thursday. She discussed in detail about my situation and what’s to be done. I had two differential diagnoses to the lump on my left breast. It was either a benign phyllodes tumour or a fibroadenoma. First one’s a concern, the second is relatively harmless.

If it was just diagnosed to be a fibroadenoma, she would have just left it as it was (although I would still want it removed regardless), but because it could also be a phyllodes tumour, benign or not, it’s best to be taken out. For my peace of mind, I just want the darn thing out.

My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 8am. I’ll be admitted to the hospital at 7am, the surgery will be at 8am, and I should, hopefully, leave the hospital by noon. As much as I don’t want to, I will be under general anaesthesia for the minor operation. Mother dearest had been telling me wonderful tales of the side effects of GA, and how she had it when she had her thyroid operated on, how she felt nauseous and incredibly groggy for days, how my scar could tear, etc. Yep, I’m scared shitless. Thanks mum. Love you too.

Thanks for your positive thoughts and wishes on Twitter. I really appreciate it.

Tine xx
