I recently had the opportunity to trial Dove’s latest skincare product, the foaming makeup remover. Now, to be honest, I’m not a fan of Dove skincare products. I mean, I love their bodywashes (in fact, I used to use their regular body wash for years before I started trying other brands), but their skincare stuff…meh.
So, how did this go? Did it exceed my expectations? Or it’s just another item to add into my do-not-buy list?
Description:
Gentle on skin while effectively removing make-up, Dove Foaming Make Up Remover works instantly by transforming from liquid to foam. Gentle on skin the remover can be applied directly to a wet or dry face to removed even the heaviest make-up including waterproof mascara, eye make-up and foundation.Ingredients:
Water, PEG-8, ISOPENTYLDIOL, PEG-20 GLYCERYL TRIISOSTEARATE, GLYCERIN, HYDROGENATED POLYISOBUTENE, POTASSIUM COCOYLGLYCINATE, LAURYL HYDROXYSULTAINE, BUTYLENE GLYCOL LAURATE, LAURYL GLUCOSIDE, ETHANOL, BHT, DISODIUM EDTA, METHYLPARABEN, METHYLISOTHIAZOLINONE, METHYLCHLOROISOTHIAZOLINONE, FRAGRANCE.
Even though it’s clear liquid on the inside (it isn’t oil, contrary to what I assumed it to be given the popularity of cleansing oils), when you press the pump, it comes out as foam. All you need is 2 pumps, and that’s enough to apply all over the face. Gently massage the skin for a minute and then wash off. As this is a makeup remover and not specifically a cleanser, I used this as part of my double-cleansing routine, and cleansed my face again in the shower with a separate cleanser.
